What is going on? Are y'all actually jealous of the Kings and Mavs?!?!?! Let me tell you something, we got two championships!!! They should be jealous of us!!! It took those two teams over a decade to get where they are!!! I think the Rockets rebuilding is going to be much faster, because we actually have players that WANT TO STAY!!! Damn, Rockets fans jealous of the Kings and the Mavericks...have I entered the twilight zone?

    :D

I know, I know. I just thought some people may have needed a reminder. The Mavs and Kings haven't won anything yet.

ments, mints, whats the difference. You make one 4-hour trip to Houston to see a Rockets game, and you get a free mint:D Kinda makes it worth the trip, don't it?

Hey DC, we all know that the Mavs and Kings haven't won anything yet, but what does that have to do with them not being fun to watch. So the Dallas Mavericks took a long time to rebuild, does that mean I shouldn't enjoy this series. I am having a hard time understanding your point. I guess I should be watching the boring series LA vs San Antonio because after all they have both won championships. Oh and forget about the east, none of them have won anything in a while so they don't deserve to be watched either.

I know you are a huge rockets fan but that doesn't mean that you should tell other rockets fans to not enjoy the series. Even if someone is jealous of the Mavs or Kings what is wrong with that. I am a Mavs fan and I was jealous of you guys when you won a championship. I guess that means that I am not a diehard Mavs fan according to you.

OK, Sacramento without Peja, now who do you pick?

How come the Rockets can't run half as much as these guys? Why do we play slowdown with a bunch of youngsters?

In the mid 90's , I imagine the Kings wish they had hakeem, so why we can't wish we played the way they play? Students of the game appreciate other good players and plays.

How serious is Peja's injury? I only got to watch the end of the game, so didn't get to see what happened. I heard he had to be carried off after he rolled his ankle...

    GO KINGS!!!

You know, upon closer examination and in defense of Rudy & Co., the Mavs incorporate several of the same principles the Rocks employ (or try to):

    - 'Drive and Kick'

    - Spread the floor to open up lanes

    - 2 man games to create mismatches on switches

    - Reliance on 3pt shooting

    - Quite a bit of ISO, not a whole lot of weak-side movement

Of course, the big differences are better execution, better talent, better shooting, and, of course, the Mavs have a real-life running game because, unlike the Rocks, the Mavs advance the ball with the pass instead of the dribble.

But the Mavs like to ISO quite a bit, their PG dominates the ball a bit too much, and they don't defend consistently.

    Just my $0.02.

He came down on Divac's foot and rolled it. Christy's actually looked worse and he came back. If neither is ready for tomorrow the Mavs should win.

    Live,

I said this earlier too in a post titled "We could learn a lot from the Mavericks"

Basically, we run the same offense as the Mavericks, it is just that they have better passers on their team.

I think this is exactly the direction that Rudy is going.

Anyone who hasnt enjoyed these games are just plain ol out of it. If even one of those teams were the Rox, not one person would be clamoring to discredit them. This is the most entertainment Ive had watching a basketball game since the Rox last championship run. (Or maybe the Rox 22-1 start a while back.)

A few things I noticed in this series.

    1. Rarely did either team walk the ball up to half court. They went out and got right into their offensive set.

    2. Almost no isolation. At least not in way the Rox deploy the ISO. Most of the Iso's included back door cuts, give and go's, and screening that acutally worked. Both of these teams have the type of players that could trot out to the three point line and wave everyone out as they let the clock run down and jack a last second desperate shot. But they dont. Lots of ball movement. Everyone is involved. I WISH we ran offense like these two teams.

    3. In the last game going deep into the fourth quarter the two teams had combined for a total of 19 turnovers. Thats about what Houston averages per game themselves. Thats with two teams running up the score, getting more possesions, passing more. Maybe these two teams D doesnt stink as much as thought. They score so much and so fast they in turn give up more posessions, and shot attempts.

Either way this series has been.......fantastic

OMG in thermo we found out we had to clear our calculators that had all the answers in them for the final and everyone panicked and went on a huge studying spree yesterday (we found out only 24 hours before the final) and i missed this damn game. 125-119!!! maybe the most exciting game in years and i missed it. i've been so hyped about this series and after game 2 was really ready for game 3. and now that i hear what it was like, dammit. turns out we didn't even have to clear (luckily we didn't beforehand) and i think i did good b/c of studying but still that sucked so hard.

and the rockets did not average 19 TO/game. i think we were actually on the low side in the league around 14 or so unless it shot up toward the end.

Francis needs to work on this. He needs to push the ball up the court, instead of taking his time.
