I think the Rockets are due for a good run in the next few years. All these years of frustration can't continue. Yao Ming and the Rockets will be in the 2nd round of the playoffs this year and you never know whats in store beyond that. This team is very gritty. I love it.
I truly don't understand why so many people are saying we have to face so and so to get to the second round....that inevitably leads to a playoff defeat somewhere. besides i'd rather the rockets beat someone plausible so they could at least say they got to the second round thru great ball play...not by default. and yes, i know...anyone in the WC playoffs should be good enough to not be considered a pushover.
That really is a defeatist mentality. It doesn't matter who the Rockets play, they can beat anyone. My only concern is how Yao will adjust his game when teams hone in on fronting him in the 4th (ala last night against the Blazers)
I'm feelin pretty good about it. If we can lock up a home court advantage spot in this year's Western Conference, then we should be able to advance at least to the second round.

I think outside of SA and LA, we can handle all the teams pretty well. I think we can hang with SA and LA...it would be tough though, but it can be done.
Bring those turds on! I was ok with playing them last year if we were relatively healthy (having Rafer). I'd love to see Ron Ron all over those douches. It would be even better to beat them in the second round or later. THAT would be redemption.
nothing is "due", per se. you have to earn everything in this league. even if you're talented and play hard, it may not be enough sometimes, since you will also need some luck. just ask the bulls.
They can continue, actually. Look at the Clippers, the Mavericks, the Grizzlies, the Sonics. Things can get worse. We shouldn't feel like we deserve anything, we should just go out and kick ass.
