He's listed at 6'3", but plays pretty big for his size. He doesn't have above average point guard skills, though. He's got Ben Gordon's skillset with Nachbar's athleticism. You know, the kind of athleticism where they surprise you once in awhile, but for the most part they play like your typical Euro. I fail to see why the rockets need him.
I've always been wary of the Europeans that are supposed to be good shooters, at least when it comes to the Rockets. We've been burned twice so far. Turkcan and Nachbar come to mind.
Like Eric Piatkowski and Marco Belinelli merged together. If its the Rockets, obviously they're thinking shorter Peja Stojakovic route on this. awrence Frank runs the motion offense in New Jersey. If you consider Nachbar in New Jersey a good player, he'd actually make some sense on THIS Rockets team.
He is a SG, not a PG. Our SG depth is not that great....Wafer, Brooks (PG/SG), Artest (SF/SG). I wouldn't be surprised that he gets signed. He is kinda old and his contract is kinda expensive though.
I'd give him a shot... Maybe re-negotiate that 3-year $12-million contract, but that's about it. Worse case scenario, he gets packaged in a trade for cash, a draft pick, or something rather. If he'd fit in Adelman's system, who cares what his age is. Peja Stojakovic Vlade Divac Adelman might be able to harness whatever greatness this Yugoslavian player might still have left in him.
Sohu.com and Sina.com have the story a couple days ago and the latest news is Igor has denied that he had ever received any offer from Rockets.
Poor yorrick my... This is good news. http://www.elcorreodigital.com/alava/20090225/deportes/tau/primera-opcion-aqui-hecho-20090225.html
