    Check out local hospitals.

    They're always looking for volunteers...

The Houston Museum of Natural Science is always looking for volunteers. It's a fun environment, too.

Or you could just jerk off and play War Craft.

You dont feel like looking for a job, but you are looking for Volunteer work
Why not look for a job that does the same and get paid for it?

I guess you are looking to help. My bad

Definately look for a job but otherwise I agree with doing volunteer work. In addition to being a good thing to do, its going to keep you from getting too bored, it can help you network and looks good on a resume. Other than that you should exercise, do home improvement and educate yourself. Its important to stay busy and take the opportunity to improve yourself. This will give you a better shot at getting a job again in the future and will also help you out in life.

I love the working out idea. If you are really fat, employers will discriminate against you.

It sounds like you have the choice of working or not, which leads me to believe you're in your early 20's or late teens. If so, go find an activity you enjoy and join a social club that participates in that activity. For example, if you like basketball, join a basketball league.

If you're not in your early 20's or late teens, go get a job! You'll regret it when you have no money.

Do you belong to any type of church? I don't know of any church that would turn away a volunteer. You can generally pick/choose the type of service you provide as well. Even if you don't belong to a church or whatever, you can still contact a church for a list of supported charities, many of which are non-denominational, inter-denominational, or not affiliated with religion in any way. Call someone and talk to them. It shouldn't be too hard to be pointed in the right direction.

Live with another unemployed person.. it helps! I was out of work(by choice) for 6 months a couple of years back and lived with a guy who just couldn't be ****ed working and all we did was get up each day at about 10... go on the net, play tennis, go for a swim, play xbox and every 2nd night or so we would drink and go out.... they were the days :)

If you're looking for a short term volunteer opportunity I'm putting together a project to help rebuild house(s) in Surfside Beach with another clutchfan. I'm bringing down some students from the U of MN over sprinbreak, the third week in March. If you are interested we could probably use another hand. Email through the Clutchfans and I will let you know more and if we can get you in.
