Ok, getting my 4th tattoo today, and was wondering how many people on here have some? And what's your favorite. All mine are music lyrics to my favorite band. My favorite one is the one on my chest, its a black and red bleeding heart with a banner that says "love's completely real"
I don't have any but I am planning on getting one next month. Its going to be an ambigram of the word "strength". Who is your favorite band?
Follow this link at your own risk to some examples of what NOT to get when getting a tattoo. Definately NSFW http://listverse.com/bizarre/top-20-worst-tattoos/
I was at Target the other day and the lady in front of my had a naked lady riding a rocket (shaped like a you-know-what) with rain coming out of it on the side of her leg. I couldn't believe it. She was with her kid and I thought CLASSY!
I have Amor fati tattooed across my heart. I took it from a passage of Nietzsche's that I hope to live my life by. "I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer." "My formula for greatness in a human being is amor fati: that one wants nothing to be different, not forward, not backward, not in all eternity. Not merely bear what is necessary, still less conceal it—all idealism is mendaciousness in the face of what is necessary—but love it."
I have one on my shoulder. And to be hypocritical, I don't like them on women. An old girlfriend had two, one on each shoulder blade. When we messed around and I was behind, it was very distracting. I would put both hands on her shoulder to cover them.
I'll never get a tattoo, because I know I'll regret whatever I pick 1 month later. P.S. Tats don't make you a rebel or original; they just confirm that you're a conformist.
how does not getting one make you original? seems like you're just conforming to the "i'll regret it" crowd.
I have a very basic St Culthberts Cross on my right shoulder which is about my family and where we are from "Northern England". I want to get something Australian but not tacky next....and after that when Im married I'm going to start one on my left shoulder about my family.
