Well I have to admit I have never been to an "Islamic Nation" I always think of places like Iran and Saudi and really only have American TV to thank for my world view of Islam, that and terrorists. I would imagine if you take the Koran literally one could conclude that a man owns his wife but I don't know that. There are plenty of people that take the Bible literally and believe that they own their wives but it is not a "typical" Christian world view. So I will withdraw my prejudiced conclusion. Sorry.
Based on the how you constructed your argument I would say that is what you concluded. Except that is applying more information to the hypothetical scenario that I constructed that I didn't present. Such as that I used the N-Word. In the case of the Muslim I would agree if he yelled out "Allah Akbar" while committing the act then that would prove it was religiously motivated. We have no evidence of that. We know he beheaded her and we know Muslim terrorists have beheaded others. We don't know though if he beheaded her because that was the means at hand he had to shoot her. We don't know if he beheaded her because that was the most violent way he thought of. Again there is no clear evidence that religion had anything to do with this.
Thanks for reconsidering.... FYI, critics tend to have concerns about “inequality” rather than “ownership” in regards to specifics about the relationship of men and women in the Koran. I’ve never come across anything about “ownership”...
