he had no strength in his knee. If that is his fault for not lifting (and being a fat turd) or someone else's fault is one issue. Another issue is the Dr. clearing him to play in that condition instead of saying "your rehab...is not done"
Doc: "It's on me." Sounds like damage control if i've ever seen it. Isn't Dr. Clanton one of the best orthopedic surgeons in america? In fact isn't he THE best?
Yep.... Whatever, they need to try to repair the bridge with TMac and repair Tmac's image with the fans if they want him to play next year. DD
There is no way TMac plays in Houston. It will take him a full year to heal and with rehabbing of TMac he will not see action till March of 2010. I rather the team try and trade him during the Summer and get something of some value in return.
Normally I would agree with you but it sounds like his situation is not all that bad and players like Stockton returned in 2 months from this surgery and Jason Kidd in 5 months, so it is conceivable that Tmac does it in 8 months which is just in time for training camp. DD
I work at a hospital and the McGrady situation reminds me of a risky patient that a doctor takes and ends up settling out of court to avoid legal costs. But just because they settle doesn't mean they did anything wrong.
This is pure PR. Dr. Clanton is as good as it gets. I went to junior high and high school with his daughter, so I had a chance to shadow him a lot while I was getting into the health field profession. Watching the guy is unbelievable. I can guarantee that TMac's failures this season are on TMac himself and not on Dr. Clanton.
Read Cluthfans a lot but I hardly ever post... I just get annoyed when people are so set on their ways that they won't even fathom the idea that they were talking out of their a**... Which a lot of people do...Don't get me wrong... But to be a habitual offender is just wrong. I don't know of any posters on here being actual doctors or physical therapists... To my knowledge I have not read a post by one... Somehow a lot of people came to the conclusion that T-Mac was just being lazy all season and he was whining. Granted he has not made the best decisions... But when Morey says T-mac's injury is serious... I believe there was talk about cartilage actually missing out of his knee... And now the Doctor is admitting that he made a mistake by letting T-Mac come back to play too early when he should have been strengthening it.... Even with all of this people want to say it is PR move so they can do some damage control... Seriously... Some people take conspiracy theories too far... The guy said he was hurt and didn't feel strong in his knee... The MRI and the fact that he is having MICROFRACTURE surgery still isn't enough for some of you to back off... T-Mac was wrong for the way he has been handling the announcement of his surgery... But other than that... He was a guy responding to his body... I have loved the Rockets since I was a little kid in 1989... I don't care about stars...I care about the team... And I wish T-Mac comes back in better shape than before so he can help us get another championship next season... Yeah.. I still BELIEVE the rockets can win it all this year... Let some of the other impressionable fans believe in it too without all the "HATING" going around.
Im guessing its because he didnt realize how much of a pansy TMac really is...had he known about TMac's heart, he would have asked him to rehab for the whole season.
In the rehab. world they have machines to test muscle strength, in the professional sports world they deffinitly have machines to test muscle strength. There is also statements that damsge your professional repetation, statement like "I MADE A MIS-stake", if the Rockets did not require testing, then they also made a MIS-stake.
All these other doctors saw T-Mac's knee and agreed with Clanton: James Andrews (Alabama) Walter Lowe (Houston) Thomas Carter (Phoenix)
i don't understand why everyone is assuming the doctor is just saying this to save tmac's image. doctor's can make mistakes.
