I don't want to bother at those threads, I never read them and do not plan to post in them. For me McGrady's season is over, the only news we should see is his rehab.
Because he has a huge contract, was the primary offensive option for the team the last five years, and is an ex-scoring champ. And now he's out and the team is playing more smoothly. Lots to talk about. Will he be here next year? Who will he be traded for? Is he going to have surgery this week or come back in a month? Will he ever play again?
I wish we had an EVERYTHING TMAC thread....so all of the junk about that loser can go in there. And to answer the question, why are we still talking about Tmac? Because a lot of kids bought his jersey and fall into the hype about him as a basketball player, and in reality they don't understand team building, chemistry or leadership. DD
I'm not a Tmac-lover, but I understand his value in the larger sense. I'm a fan of the Rockets. I agree that his behavior has been detrimental to the team and to fans, BUT I think that having him as an option on the team gives us a better chance in the playoffs. I don't care about his history of first-round losses. A player of that calibur adds something to the team even if there are internal issues. I'd easily take him in a bench role for the playoffs. By not playing him if he agrees to play, you're wasting his salary even more. Get what you can get out of him at this point.
We are still talking about him for several reasons. First, he's the highest paid player on our team. You tend to talk about those guys, regardless of their time on the court. How many times have you heard the name "Stephon Marbuy" mentioned this year? Yeah, thought so. Second, T-Mac has been an instrumental part of this team for many years. It's not so easy to forget a guy who has carried your team and been the superstar in years past. This especially because of the fashion in which he exited. Lastly, he's T-Mac. He wants this attention. So, we're giving it to him.
The FAN CLUB? You are completely delusional my friend - it is the haters that bring up McGrady every chance they can. I disagree with this post 1000%.
That AND because each time anything positive happens to the team, someone must present the side-note that 'it happened without McGrady.' Lets all just agree to let it go, for Crissakes.
There are 15 guys on a team. Not 1. Other guys have to step up also so its not right to blame 1 guy. Whats wrong with the other 14 guys?? They can't get out the 1st round either. Last time I checked, before Ron was traded here, there is another superstar on this team. What is his excuse for not getting out the 1st round??
