I hate the fact that all the cars are GM. The original Transformers were all different car brands. Screw Detroit.
I was hoping they would smooth them out a little bit, if that makes sense. You know, instead of being insect like they would look more like robots.
I'ma generation 1 Transformer fan. Got seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, watched them all in succession to relive the good times and....yeah alot of those toons were plenty bad admittedly, even for me But it made me remember that transformers wasnt the most hardcore serious series ever, like how cartoon version Tranformers the Movie attempted. It was regular good guys vs bad guys except they happened to be robots. That to me is actually why Michael Bay was a tolerable choice for the movie. At least good for Bay. Cuz it played to his strengths of throwing cool action on the screen, corny cliche dialogue & anything else unrealistic about the cartoon. And he still left a little to be desired. Transformers is a part of people's childhood that was around long before Bay. Every TF fan dreamt of what real life transformers would be like. Not saying he sold out the loyal followers for more widespread appeal but why use Transformers to make creations that look nothing like Transformers? Coulda done that all his own.
This was my only real gripe with the movie. It felt like one big GM commercial, even with that bad-ass Saleen Mustang decepticon.
