Everyones favorite writer CHarley Rosen likes what he sees in AB. http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/9242744/Are-revamped-Rockets-ready-to-re-launch?
i actually like to read his articles. they are based on the game he watched that night so his analysis of the team could be off sometimes but usually they are a good read. he does have a grudge against jvg for some reason.
Nice read. I agree the Yao Ming part. He almost cost us a game. Besides the 6 TOs, he made the team panic down the stretch. Fortunately, we have a cold blood AB.
[rquoter]Luis Scola hit his mid-range jumpers, scored a couple of earnest buckets in the low-post, and — more than Artest — was mainly responsible for banging Nowitzki around and limiting the Mavs' leading scorer to 4-18 and only nine total points. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the hard-working Scola is one of the most underrated players in the league.[/rquoter] Didn't Rosen say that Luis Scola would never be more than a small-time role player -- before he played an NBA game? Come on, man.
But without Yao,we even CAnnt win. The reason why he had so many TOs are 1 RA played him nearly 40 minutes, he had to run many times back and forth without even touching the ball, that made him inefficient. 2 AB still had promblem to pass to ball to Yao. And I dont agree with you that AB is cold blood. He played well last night ,but he had 4TOs,and sometimes he just dont know how to pass the ball. And I think AB cant shot consistenly every game, especially in the playoffs.
I think it's another terrible Rosen article. It's as if this is the first Rockets game he's actually watched and then drawing conclusions. For example, that Brooks can't make a layup. Wrong. He's actually very good at layups. Just had an off night for layups.
Brooks struggled finishing as a rookie, and he's been inconsistent this year. He's smallish, and he relies on a lot of floaters and hook shots to get the ball over defenders, instead of trying to create contact and get to the line (which is what Lowry will do). I think we're all so used to Rafer's terrible finishing capabilities that we tend to overrate Brooks's abilities in that area.
Yao is the opposite of Battier, a guy that puts up good stats but hurts the team with his poor defense outside of the paint, his turnovers especially in the 4th qtr when teams trap him hard and his lack of being clutch down the stretch.
You know, that was my impression. But I'm going to rewatch the game closely and see how many of our scores came about because of attention to Yao. It's easy to blame the lost possessions on Yao's mistakes, but he often impacts the game in positive, yet invisible, ways -- like Battier.
My gues is you do not understand what Cold blooded means. It has nothing to do with how he played during the game, except for the last minute. So the amount of turnovers during the game and if he has difficulties getting the ball to Yao doesn't have any influence on how cold blooded he is. Cold blooded means how well he handles the pressure of the end of a game (or important Play off series). Just trying to make it clear to you, since i get the impression that english isn't your first language (I appologize if English is your first language).
What, by insisting he's been "saying it before and will say it again"? I actually like his articles, but he does come off as being an arrogant dude.
Yeah, I know exactly what cold blooded means. I mean, he cant perform consistently ,and he made so many stupid shots,he attack to th rim,but got blocked. We cant count on him ,I mean ,we win by luck.Last night,we cant see them pass the ball fluently.
brooks isnt really a finisher. hes so small that any bit of contact can throw him off balance. most the times he flips the ball up and it miraculously goes in.
