I'm a magic and rockets fan. Just heard on the radio that he will suit up and will wear a temporary #36 jersey. They said it doesn't even have his name on it lol. The interviewer said, "there have been some great guys to wear #1 on this magic team in the past...." and alston said, "oh yes i know and i'm honored to wear their number." BTW, Does this mean lowry/cook will play for the rockets tonight too?
Tell me about it. What in the world are you people talking about? Disrespect towards Tracy? How? If anything, wearing someone else's number is a sign of respect. When I play in men's leagues, church leagues, hell even back in high school, EVERYONE wanted to wear number 23. How in the world this could be considered a digg against Tmac by Rafer is baffling. Seriously guys, take a deep breath and step away from your computers and get some fresh air. If he had worn Grant Hill's old number would that be a slap in the face to Grant? I'm confused.
both are expected to suit up tonight but neither are expected to play. oh and Ariza and Mo Evans both have worn #1 with the magic after Mcgrady left the Magic. odd that they didnt have a jersey made for him to go...I understand its a road game for them tonight but you would think it wouldn't be that difficult for a team to get a jersey made for a player in an hour since all they would need to do is sew on the number and last name of the player... since they are on the road tonight they could have had it done in orlando this morning/late late last night and have it shipped to charlotte separately or if the team arrived earlier today in NC sent with the team. seems sort of unprofessional if he has to wear a temporary jersey. heck I am sure they could get the jersey made in charlotte if they had a blank jersey and number/lettering with them which they could have taken with them to charlotte easily.
They aren't going to retire his number in Orlando. He didn't do anything for them. Shaq took them to the Finals AND led the league in scoring. Shaq in Orlando > 50 Tmacs in Orlando + 50 Juwan Howards + a healthy Grant Hill
yeah, i agree... they should've been able to get his a jersey. Who knows why they couldn't. They probably thought he wouldn't be available tonight. The news of his temp jersey only came out like an hour ago btw... so it's not like they had all morning. That sucks the additions to the rockets won't be playing...
