http://blogs.chron.com/jeromesolomon/2009/02/post_80.html Very interesting, especially the part about how Tracy had contact with Keith Jones and told him he was leaning towards surgery. However, I think the conclusion Solomon draws is wrong because even if Adelman could've heard from Keith Tracy leaned towards a surgery, it doesn't take away the fact he made the decision on his own and told ESPN instead of any1 on the Rockets. I guess Tracy doesn't feel the support from Adelman and whole organisation, which is very strange. Now we don't know all the facts, so what goes on behind closed doors, but it seemed like Adelman made it as easy as possible for Tracy. You want to take two weeks off Tracy, go ahead. You want to play one night on a back-to-back, go ahead. You want to not play any defense, go ahead (except after the Toronto game). Maybe Tracy feels the talk he had with Morey and RA after the Toronto game was unjustified. Does any1 have a clue of something specific happened (trade talk, the talk after Toronto game etc) or is it just the way the whole season has gone for him ?
He says this about Aaron, yet this is only Aaron's second year in the league. We didn't draft him expecting him to be a top-flight PG, just someone to take over from "4 for 13", and hey, that's what happened! Anyway, I sure hope he isn't delusional enough to be implying here that you could say the same about who we just gave away I don't recall Rafer ever being confused as a PG that would take a team that next step to be a contender. I don't ever recall any team defense repsecting Rafer not enough to sag off of him to help double Yao. Rafer may have been a steady hand at the wheel, but so what? Where has that gotten us? Pretty much the only person who liked Rafer during the JVG years was JVG himself. This trade really isn't that much of a surprise or curious. It's overdue. People are only surprised or curious becuase of some of the name thrown around in rumors about Rocket trade talks. No matter what anyone else rumored to be happening, the Rockets did essentially what they said they were going to do. Make a tweak and not likely for a big name. I guess Solomon would rather see us keep Rafer for another year so maybe, just maybe, we'll make a magical run next year for title contention with "4 for 13" leading the way as Tracy sits on the sidelines broken. This is a move that upgrades our future possibilities as we get younger and have more upside at the #1. We weren't going anywhere inportant with Rafer this year and next may not be much different with Tracy's status u in the air. Now was the perfect time for a changing of the guard (no pun intended). How is that curious?
Man I'm at the point where I'm just about done with all this drama speculation. I just want to see some basketball being played, with or without T-Mac. I'll let the team deal with all that off the court stuff. If I wanted to gossip about drama, I'd be at TMZFans.com.
Yeah Jerome, it's not like the two point guards facing off for the title last year were Derek Fisher and Rajon Rondo. Oops, my bad.
Tracey is a very very talented bi-polar little b****, hopefully his days as a Rocket are over but I will boo him every chance if they are not.
Keith Jones told Les. He didn't tell Adelman, because they were waiting for all the tests to be done. That's Keith's story, and I believe it. Solomon should have known these facts, considering he works for the Chronicle.
has anybody in the Rockets orginization come out and said AB is the starter? I'm just curious because I haven't heard anyone say it specifically yet. I could have missed it.
It still seems to me that for one reason or another, McGrady didn't have the ear of the coaching staff. Sounds to me like he was saying "guys, I've done everything that is asked of me. It's not working.", and all he ever heard back in response was "you're a wuss, suck it up and play, lots of people have injuries and play through them". It got to a point where he felt he had to shout real loud so that they would hear him.
Lowry is still essentially a rookie point guard (played only 10 games last season). This isn't the Memphis Grizzlies...there's no way he's going to start right now. Brooks is the starter, for now. If Lowry develops quickly to the point where he becomes a qualified starter over Brooks then the Rockets can make that decision, but the keys go to Brooks by default even if they don't come out and say it officially.
This is Lowry's 3rd season, and he's actually started more games in his career than Brooks (30 versus 7). Albeit for a much worse team. http://www.basketball-reference.com/fc/tiny.cgi?id=tZdb0
solomon is in love with Mcgrady until Mcgrady went awol and he had to criticize him. He also loves skip for some reason. Give the boys a chance to prove themselves before you declare the season over.
