Looking at his hotspots his a guy that we need, someone who can finish at the Rim and run. Rafer couldn't do either of that. And he missed sorts. IF and thats a most likely happenning Tracy Mcgrady comes back next season, Lowry would be extremely useful in the starting unit.
To be honest, I don't have much of any impression about Lowry. So can't have too much to say. But looking at his numbers and the highlights, he seems to be a good at penetrating but not a good shooter. His 3pt shooting is worse than Rafer. and his overall shooting percentage isn't very impressive. That's why I don't quite get it. I thought we wanted a better shooter at the point. Again, I don't know his game very much. So I may be wrong. But looks like the only thing he is an "upgrade" over Rafer is finishing in the lane. BTW, Brian Cook is kind of a poor man's Novak with a little better rebounding skill.
Ya, I know I started this thread trying to get people excited about Lowry as I, myself, am completely excited, but maybe Brian Cook gets a little lost in the shuffle. Ya, I'm not expecting much, but isn't he a guy that can actually board when given P.T.? Would be a huge plus if we could get anything out of this guy...
This season has to be wasted, this is it. No way this young kid can achieve whatever the expectation in 20 games.
