1. From the first link, it only says it is a possibility China will get 50% of Yao's income. Do you have the link that China's plan finally becomes reality? Do not forget that link is from 2002 before everything is settled. 2. Also in the first link, it is said if Yao is drafted by Wizards, he can end up with paying 48% of his income to IRS. What is the big difference between 50% and 48%? 3. The second link is also from 2002, and at that time how much Yao really has to give to China is still unknown. Everything was still speculation. 4. If you ever read any Chinese media coverage on this, you will know those two links are bul****** just like your posts. Chinese view that individuals' interests cannot be compared with collective interests. If Yao refuse to attend national basketball team this summer, he would loose a part of fans in China. And I believe that the commerical factor cannot be ignored. As a most famous player in China, Yao help increase the revenue of CBA.

Up to now,In the china,i got a new that Yao and yi won't play for china this summer, and the next coach will be prepare for their absence。 maybe sun will be back actuality,rather than come back play for china ,many fans in the china many would like them stay in America to train. It's better for their next season,for their futrue. So, Yao won't be play for china , i am sure! Trust me
A lot of things may factor in. For example, if he decides to opt out in 2010, he may have a second thought about playing or not playing in this summer. He is a smart man. He or his team knows how to make things work the best for everybody.
I did not brand, merely assumed after reading your tirade of anger toward all the other posters. One who has the fortatude to stand up and argue when people are making jokes about communism, henceforth gets labeled such by his peers.
I believe what people were trying to do was simply give their OPINION. If you knew they were wrong you could have corrected them in a manner that didnt come across so mean. This is a Forum of OPINIONS, so I believe you should come in here with the state of mind that you cannot get so mad when you see something that you dont nessisarily agree with.
