Since this trade is obviously for our future does anyone know if we have any picks this year?? If I remember correctly Sacramento owns our 1st round pick in the Artest trade and the Spurs own our 2nd round pick in the Scola deal can anyone confirm this???

And how about we rest Yao and just relax these last games....and wait for TRACY "DA SUPERSTAR" McGRADY to come back next year and lead us to another first round exit!!!!!!

We have no picks in this year's draft, but at this point, I'm pretty sure we'll trade for one.

Our pick is lottery protected, so we'll have it if we miss the playoffs.

Since we're not going to win anything in the playoffs anyway, let's just tank this season and get a lottery pick. I'd love to have Stephen Curry. :p

Wait so in the east is you have a record that is in the 14th worst but you make the playoffs do you still get a lottery pick?

So all the non playoff teams get a lotterpick?

Yes, all the none playoff teams get a lottery pick. Wrong forum, but we should certainly buy one or several picks. Guys to look out for: Stephen Curry (my top prospect), Kyle Singler, Chase Budinger, and Tyler Hansborough. You see I am very conservative in taking draft picks. I always go for work ethnic over athleticism, winning record and leadership over potential.

Really after those two the class seems like it won't be that strong.

Aminu for Wake Forest has a lot of potential but he needs to develop more.

I forgot where it was reported, maybe Daryl Morey said it himself, but he believes more than a few teams will be looking to sell their picks this year. I hope Les and Morey look to buy as many as they can, and maybe package them with Tslack and go after a solid impact player.

I don't think that we're getting our pick back, because despite the doom & gloom of the day I still think that we're going to make the playoffs. Maybe I'm just a foolish optimist, but I'm not ready to mail it in now that we no longer have Rafer on the team.

As for the draft - I'm guessing that Morey will buy a pick in the second round to draft a project. Even if we don't draft anyone we should have Joey Dorsey for the full season next year, so that will kind of be like having a rookie on the squad.

losing rafer does not equal the sky is falling.

im pretty sure i remember a thread started by clutch himself saying rafer last year had the lowest fg percentage ever for someone that played as many minutes as him. im glad he is gone.

Exactly - I liked the guy, but losing him does not have me getting ready to duck and cover.

I'm hoping that Brooks and Lowry push each other to be better.
