lets see here just off the top of my head the rockets have traded the following players in the last 5-6 years

    mo taylor
    jimmy jackson
    boki nachbar
    steve francis (twice!)
    mike james (twice!)
    bonzi wells
    tyronne lue
    reece gaines
    juwan howard
    cuttino mobley
    derek anderson
    kelvin cato
    clarence weatherspoon
    steve novak :(
    stromile swift
    donte greene (a stretch yes)
    bobby jackson
    moochie norris
    scott padgett
    eric piakowski
    adrian griffin
    kenny thomas

care to tell me which of these players went to go and win championships?

the only players i can think of are:
robert horry who won rings after he was traded from the suns (the team he was traded to from the rockets)
sam cassell --who just won LAST year
james posey who left the rockets as a free agent.

edit: and moses malone but that was over 25 years ago....

Dont get me wrong, this has nothing to do with me thinking Rafer is that talented. It has everything to do with a Houston curse.

Oh, so dark powers are somehow involved, why didn't you say so to begin with? It all makes sense, Rafer was trader to the Magic no if everyone who believes in fairies will clap their hands he'll transform into a superb player.

Magic weren't even contenders with Jameer Nelson, what makes you think Alston can lead them there?

Alston is a great PG and I'm an Alston supporter, but there is no way Alston is better than Nelson, nor will he lead the Magic to the Finals. Orlando relies too much on 3 point shooting to get anywhere.

They are just the Eastern Conference version of the Phoenix Suns. They never got anywhere, the Suns had one chance to get there and that was in 2007 when they had a healthy Amare Stoudemire and a Kurt Thomas on there team. Unless you wanna compare Battie to Thomas, Magic have no chance at the Finals with or without Nelson. Mark my words.

The only sweep that will ever occur between a Texas team and the Orlando Magic happened in 1995.

And don't you forget it. ;)

I think rafer will lead the Magic to the 2nd round at least.
but I don't believe they can win the final without nelson.

Why are there so many threads about the demise of the rockets as we know them???

they traded RAFER ALSTON for Christ's sake. Not even one of the 5 best players on the team. They didnt trade tmac, not Yao, not Scola, not Artest....but RAFER ****ING ALSTON, the most inconsistent player in the entire NBA. What exactly has he done for this team in his tenure here that makes you think this team will fall apart without him?

Rafer Alston won;t lead the Magic to anything

Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, and Hedo will lead them there
