I think a lot of people have no problem with the fact that Brooks is going to be starting. I happen to like his game a lot more than Rafer's; he knows how to score, and he's young. And come on, its fun to watch him run around.

Personally, I'm a little upset with what the Rockets got for Alston. I understand he isn't great, but I don't think Brian Cook's going to be doing much playing, and Alston has been the starting pg on a playoff team for a few years now. I would have thought we could get a bit more for him.

I like these stats though, thanks for posting those. I think Brooks is going to work out nicely.

Really? Because there are at least 5 games where he played 40+ minutes, and 15+ games when he played 25+ minutes.

No, but I saw a post where you said you were really happy: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=4254487&postcount=20

If you think Rafer Alston is the difference between a championship and no championship, maybe you should start questioning your own basketball analysis.

You are right, And his stats are even more impressive if I had included those games.....

Again, Kyle Lowry is the only relative unknown right now.

Is he good enough to be a solid back-up(defend people) in the playoffs, because that is where we are going!

No i said the only thing I can be happy about is that I get to see more Brooks.

It think Rafer could be the difference in winning a playoff series. I liked seeing them both on the floor. And in the playoffs, you need all the ball handling skills you can get.

Ok, so you think Rafer could help us win a playoff series. Do you think he could lead us past the Lakers, Celtics, etc...?

If not, at least we get a slightly better draft pick assuming Brooks can't accomplish as much as Rafer. We also get to see more of Brooks to make a better decision on his future with this organization.

Championships are what matter. With or without Rafer, our chances were pretty slim.

Wrong...this is how the statement should read.

"The season is over and the Rockets have no chance now that T-MAC is gone."

At least that's the conclusion the Rockets management came to, which I completely disagree with.

As a result of their assessment that the season is over, they decided to trade Alston and focus on developing some young talent.

Who is giving up? We are still deep. It's clearly Yao's team. Scola and Artest will have to step it up also.

Battier would be like a mid-season addition, if he can continue to play like he did against the Nets. Von Wafer and Brent Barry can fill the void of tmax, or lack thereof. Now that I think of it, I'm glad Morey didn't trade either Brooks or Landry.

Von Wafer is the x-factor. I'm glad he's back in the rotation. He has quickly become a fan favorite.

Of course, we have Yao's future to think of. He's not sticking around if we go into rebuilding mode.

    Size doesn't matter?

How about our defense with 2 undersized pg?

So what? Rondo is 6'1 and Lowry is 6'0. Rondo is an excellent pesky defender and I feel like Lowry is the same way. I'm telling you guys, Lowry is either the next Jason Kidd or Rajon Rondo. At this point it's more realistic to think he's the next Rondo since he has done nothing impressive as a member of the Grizzlies Organization.

He's very strong and big for a 6'0 player as well. Dude may not be tall, but his strength makes up for it. I'm not sure if that's the case for Brooks, because it looks like he depends on Speed a lot.

You're missing the point of this thread. 6-1 when Aaron started. Aaron only started when Alston out.

I could care less if Aaron played like crap when Rafer started over him because Rafer is gone now.

We beat the Celtics without TMAC before, I think with Rafer our chances are better.

How do we get a better draft pick? Is the 53rd pick really better than the 55th? I'd rather have a better shot at winning in the postseason.

Lowry is the next Jason Kidd or Rajon Rondo?

    Geez

And definitely not Rondo, he may be 6'1, but he is very long and that is why is a very good pesky defender.

I would assume you mean like Jason Kidd defensively?

Actually that's sort of the point. It's kind useless to compare a 6 game starting sample to 40 plus game starting sample, just to rationalize something we want to feel good about.

Plus, remember, the trade isn't even Rafer for Aaron.

Oh, it should have been watch the game in the earlier post.

On your first comment, who started and finished that game against the Celtics? Who played 44 minutes and made two crucial passes in the last minute?

On your second point, I forgot we traded our 1st rounder.
