That is how I feel. Don't get me wrong, I understand Rafer is not ideal PG for this team because he is not a great shooter, but come on. I do think that trade was a collapse.

And we are gonna miss Rafer in the playoffs, especially now playing without McGrady (best playmaker).

I do think veterans are KEY in the postseason, especially down the stretch. Rafer was that guy, we knew he was gonna handle the ball, I mean, we knew what we were gonna get from this guy.

Right now we have two YOUNG guys. Maybe Lowry is a better talent, but he is YOUNG. He needs expierence, because neither he or Brooks are not gonna carry this team in the postseason.

Just look at the last two games. Rafer was the PLAYMAKER. He was making plays and when he was open he made his 3s. That is what we want... Without a veteran point guard we are going nowhere in the postseason.

Agreed, Rockets are not going to look too good. Alston was the Rockets' best passer/playmaker. He was durable, tough and a great defender. In my opinion he was the 2nd Most valuable player on this team behind Yao Ming. If he doesn't show up for games meaning if he sucks at a game. Rockets don't really have that good of a chance winning unless Yao shows up himself.

Rafer was highly under-appreciated as a Rocket and as a player. Since I hate the Magic, I can't see best wishes to him. ;)

    But!
If you really think about it.. We do have Barry who can run point.
And I believe Matt Bullard was talking about how Shane could run point on 610.

Rafer was bad butter, but he was on our side of the bread. No one can doubt his effort or the fact that he was a team player.

Brooks has to prove himself to be a solid starter or we're totally boned in the backcourt for years once Ron bolts.

Maybe so, but did you forget about how badly Alston got abused two years ago by Williams? Apparently so. Did you forget that Paul, Williams, Kidd, and a few other great PG's are in the West as well and we just upgraded on defense at PG. We also got younger at the position.

And news flash, but the ROckets will either be one and done in the playoffs or get to the 2nd round and they'll lose.

Folks need to forget about the championship aspirations for this season because it aint gonna happen. If you want to blame someone than blame that sack of garbage Tmac for quitting and then ruining our chances of trading him to get other players. Morey wants to make this team full of veterans and younger team and nucleus to add with Brooks and Landry.

And another news flash, Alston was not that great of a player any way. The Rockets are going to be fine. They just got younger and are thinking about the future sooner than later.

I think Boston and Utah are perfect examples of being able to win with young players in the postseason.

I am not saying Rafer is a phenomenal player or anything like that. Guys like Williams or Paul are much better.

But, I just want to say Rafer > Lowry

This team doesn't need yound guys. We are built to win something this or next season.

As for last year's playoffs series. Rafer was lighting up Williams as wel.

You do realize Lowry is even smaller right? He might be stronger, but it does not mean it's going to be better to defend D-Will.

We will miss Rafer in the playoffs and Nobody can deny that part, I am just not sure how that kid Lowry is going to fill in for him.

I am not even sure they will make the playoff. Only 28 games left. How long will it take Lowry to fit into the system? One important job for point guards on this team is getting the ball to Yao in scoring position, and that is not exactly an easy job for any pg.

Boston had Allen, Pierce and KG... It makes a BIG difference..

    Williams is already a STAR.

yes we will. Ho easily some forget what a difference he made last year. Lowry could potentially be better, but right now forget it. We will miss him. And some of yall are funny. Not making the playoffs. We'll make it, but as much as i hate to see it again, I don't know about passing the first round.

The rockets will do fine in the playoffs if from here on out no one gets hurt. There going to be a faster team now with brooks and kyle. The Rockets have Yao and Artest, and Scola isn't bad either. As for Williams being a star, who says Brooks isn't a star? There are players who are solid in the regular season and then absolutely explode in the playoffs. Brooks could be one of those guys.
