Guys...lets keep in mind that the Morey and Rockets have some stupid database...i'm sure we get better by this trade I don't know if its WCF better though.
Rafer brought heart...on occasion. Makes no sense to dump your starting PG like this...are we done with this season already?!
About a year ago, I never thought I would be saying this, but... I think I'm kinda gonna miss Rafer. This trade doesn't make much sense to me, either. Seems like WE should have been the ones to snag that 1st round pick from Orlando. I mean they were probably pretty desperate, right? ... But whatever, in Morey I trust.
RAFER WAS ONE OF THE BEST AT GETTING THE BALL TO YAO OTHER THAN TMAC. NOW WE GOT TWO SMALL PG TO GUARD D WILLIAMS AND CP3. WELL AB STARTING PG NOW. HOPE HE CAN RUN THE OFFENSE. NOW YAO ACTUALLY CAN THROW TO HIS PG FROM DOUBLE TEAMS AND HAVE GOOD CHANCE OF HITTING THE OPEN 3. KYLE LOWRY ALWAYS KILLED US WHEN HE WAS AT MEMPHIS.
Good grief, people. If trading Rafer Alston means you're giving up on the season, you didn't have a season to begin with.
espn hasn't been reporting any trades for a long time now since the patrick obryant trade...doubt any more trades are coming
Well, why hasn't the other trade been announced? All teams have to send in their trades into league offices by 3 pm. The deal we just made to get Lowry and Cook was as last minute as it could get. And now, there is an even more last minute trade? I highly doubt it. I wish it were a set up to get B Diddy or Hinrich or something, but sadly I don't think that's the case.
Lowry likes to drive in a lot. Something we do need, a guard that can slash and finish around the rim. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qz3NUO41_Bg&feature=related
Replacing Landry with Cook would be absolutely, unbelievably, RIDICULOUSLY stupid... WhyTF would we do that? Besides, the deadline has passed, so...
2 inches shorter, but there aren't really any big (height wise) pgs, i think lowry plays strong, so he will be able to hold his own defensively, rafer's 2 inches didnt make that big of a dif i am sure
Brooks has better 3-pt range, but Lowry has a great mid-range game (stop and pop ala Calvin Murphy) and, due to his strength, either finishes attacks on the basket or draws the foul -- or both.
Rafer is probably the most inconsistent player that has actually been on the court for the rockets over the past few years and he claimed the team is very inconsistent. Although I would like to see rafer gone this trade is wack. Lowry sucks and is not a "assist" type of guard. I'm glad to see rafer gone though.
I don't see the combo of Brooks/Lowry taking us from being contenders (if we where, anyway). We may be marginally worse today at the point than yesterday but if we were going to make any noise in the playoffs it wasn't going to be because of Rafer. Also, we get a young player who can be a future trade piece (like in a T-mac deal next offseason). Rafer (32) could easily drop off like Mike James next season and Morey would look like a genius. I will agree that this shows that Morey isn't all that optimistic of our chances in the playoffs this season. I can't blame him.
