In the Draft Lottery we will get the #3 pick and draft woods. We will then Trade Kenny Thomas, #15 and Rice for Lewis. with our 2nd rounder we will draft Logan, making Moochie expendable. Our lineup will be like this

    Francis/Mooch/Logan
    Cat/Woods/Torres
    Lewis/Tmo/Langhi
    Taylor/Griff
    Cato/Collier

Would the Sonics be able to sign and trade Lewis before July?

Did you buy your Crystal Ball from Miss Cleo's garage sale?

The Sonics would take Rice, if we took Baker.

As much as I like the hommer, I would rather see Lamar at the three.

That was my first thought, too until I looked up Bakers contract - 4 years/ $56.2M. I'll bet they'd think about it for awhile!

Incidentally, Rice and KT for Baker works in RealGM.

If they take MoT, KT, Rice, #15, Chicago obligation and #5, then I'd take Lewis, Baker, James and a secon rounder.

    Cato/James
    Baker/Griff
    Lewis/T-Mo
    Cat/Torres
    Francis/Mooch/Tierre

Use the 2 2nd rounders on getting 3rd string players. Someone who can play the 3/4, and a project C.

I bet that team would go deep in the playoffs. Low post presence. 3-pt shooting. Penetration. SHotblocking. Some interior defense.

But as you can see, the Sonics would have to do a lot for us, so that we take Lewis at the price lewis wants.

Of course, as always, I'd rather take Odom.

Also, Sonics would immediately go into a rebuilding plan. They'd have to trade Payton. But they'd have some solid pieces to build around. Rice's contract is not such a big issue for them, since they'd be rebuilding and it's only a 2-ys contract. This is what they would have to build on:

    Mo T
    KT
    #5
    #15
    2 2nd rounders from Chicago
    Radomanovic
    Desmond Mason
    Shammond Williams
    Earl Watson
    their pick
    calvin Booth

Quite solid, don't you think? All that WITHOUT what they'd get for Payton.

It's very likely they'd do something like Payton and Shammond for Darrell Armstrong, Mike Miller and a draft pick. So then:

    Booth/MoT/Orl pick (#18= Haislip/Jennings/Boozer)
    Radomanovic/KT/Orl pick (#18=Haislip/Jennings/Boozer)
    Mike Miller/(#5=Qyntel Woods)
    Desmond Mason/(#15=Kareem Rush/Roger Mason)
    Darrell Armstrong/Earl Watson

That's after one OFFseason rebuilding. Very nice, don't you think?

    Thoughts?

Because Lewis and James are FA's, there can't be any draft day trades for them.

Baker creates some interesting possibilities for "tall ball":

    Baker/MoT/EG/Cat/SF

    or

    Cato/Baker/EG/TMo/SF

    or

    Baker/EG/TMo/Cat/SF

You could sub Oscar Torres in there as well.

I have an Odom idea, maybe I'll just start another thread.
