trade landry+head for salmons if it's possible. We have no depth and scorer in shooting guard position.
man I wish Les would just go ahead and CUT T-WAC. I'm tired of his crap really. Just thinking he might say everything is fine and come back and play next week scare the crap out of me. FREAKIN CANCER!
Its just saying Carl it's their biggest trade bait, doesn't necessarily mean he's who they want gone or are shopping, its who other teams keep asking for.
Think of TMAC as addition by subtraction at this point. Ala Mad Max circa 1995. With Wafer and Barry stepping up this team can make a run. Our ceiling is the 2nd seed and once we get to the WC finals anything can happen.
No major move > a bad move just to make a move I approve - got to keep a level head. We can still S&T Artest in the summer if there's no intention to keep him. Besides, the members of the roster that want to be a part of the team have looked good enough in games that I see no reason to panic. I'd be good with a Mike Miller deal, but otherwise see if a Head + Hayes combo can net an MLE player from a team needing cap relief. Maybe Camby if we include Landry. But standing pat isn't a bad thing. Subtracting this current version of McGrady from the active roster is already a boost. Evan
Good contract, good upside, well though of league wide, questionable impact this year because of the shaky defense.
We need Chuck Hayes for his defense alone. If we end up playing somebody like the Jazz in the playoffs, Hayes is a great person to have.
man how things have cooled down over night. i really want to see this team do something because i want to my fav team to win now and not be like everybody else who is coasting to 2010 before really trying to win. if it take landry then so be it. i love landry. everytime i play nba 2k9 i make sure i draft him in the fantasy draft i usually do, but i see him as a good backup for the rox but once he leave the rox he will only be a journey man at best..(see keith bogans) the 2 players i would like to see gone is head b/c he has just been lost on the bench this year and rafer alston bc i just havent believed in him for awhile..i would even be fine with picking up a 1st round pick cause the draft will be loaded or get someone like mike miller.
Fool, that is the llast thing we want to do. If we don't trade him today, there is always next year when he will be an even hotter commodity for his expiring contract.
I have a gut feeling we are going to stand pat. Not by choice though. I hope my gut is wrong and its just the chocolate milk I drank earlier (I'm lactose).
Why does everyone put so much stock in ESPN being the know-all end-all on sports news? Theyre wrong more than theyre right. Where were they when Artest got traded to us? They were one of the last to report it. Personally, I dont think anything big will happen, dont misunderstand me. Just saying dont believe everything you hear from ESPN.
i have to agree with you. espn is actually probably the worst about inside info. i trust the local beat writers alot more cause they are around the team much more and develop relationships and guys from espn and others are just guys waiting for phone calls.
Chad Ford: (12:29 PM ET ) They have spoken with a lot of teams about adding another guard now that TMac is out. But I think it will be a small deal ... not the bigger deals they were working on earlier in the week with Vince Carter and Baron Davis. Their best trade bait is Ron Artest's expiring contract. But I'm told, with TMac out, they'd prefer not to move it. Instead, Carl Landry may be the bait.
