Have you guys seen this??? WOW!!! http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...F?slug=ys-tradebuzz021909&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
Since the Suns want to back to their small-approach, that actually makes sense. It would be pretty interesting to see Shaq and LeBron paired up -- two of the most dominant players at their positions ... perhaps ever.
Great now we can talk about it here! I really do think that if Shaq was paired with LeBron that would pretty much garauntee a championship. His skills have been diminishing yes, but as shown in Phoenix if his minutes are limited he can still do major damage. And of course Cleveland has the personnel to have that done in Ilguaskas maybe even a lil Verajao at 4 if needed.
it makes no financial sense for the suns, they save no money on the deal and lose shaq and get no prospects. If it was Pavlovic and Wally Z it would save Phoenix tons of money... The cleveland would be center heavy and could trade Ben wallace and a 1st to the Nets for VC Then the Cavs would be the run away favorites this year. Mo Williams Vince Carter Lebron Shaq
I like it because Yao struggles against Shaq and there's a great chance we see them in the playoffs if they keep playing like the way they've been playing the last 2 games. However, Ben Wallace is a flopper and I bet Yao will get in foul trouble against him even worse than against Shaq if we meet them in the playoffs. At least Deke can be effective vs. Shaq; RA will probably not use him against Ben. It's a tough one...
I see a very simple solution to that... When we have Shaq gaurding Yao all we have to do is get him the ball outside the post. He does have a good perimeter j (good being used loosely) and when Shaq has to commit to the outside if Yao is hittin he may be able to drive to the rim and get a better shop. Open the floor for everyone. Ya know.
Unlikely, but this would undoubtedly be an upgrade for a championship chase. Can you imagine the media drama of an LA/Cle final? EDIT: http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2009/02/cleveland_cavaliers_struggling.html
i think that nash could make larry hughes a solid player again, seems like the right system for him anyway.
Im surprised that shaq hasn't broken down yet, this new run and gun phoenix offense is a recipe for disaster though.
