Shane for Carter, are they kidding? I would do that in a second. If the Rockets turned that down, they are dumber than I thought they were. The money doesn't match, but surely something could be worked out on the business end. Player wise that is a no contest.
Why not? It may be a long shot to get James or Wade, but with Tmac coming off the books, Alston and possibly Yao, we'd have as much cap room as another other team in the 2010 FA.
Great news !!! No way the Rockets part with Shane Battier, when he's healthy still one of the best defenders in the league and if we can get some offense from him like vs. Nets, there's no stopping the Rockets. Let's keep the ball moving and keep Ron & Shane, forget VC. P.S. You people really want a Tracy bloodrelative after what has transpired the last 24 hours ?
i was just telling someone in another thread about this. VC for stackhouse and dampier. hell i have a better package VC, Boone, Dooling, and Najera for Tmac, Landry, and Brooks. they are getting two of our younger players which i think is fair and better than the Dallas offer. Plus we are taking VC and Najera's contract. Rafer, Dooling VC, Wafer, Head Shane, Ron, Barry Scola, Boone, Najera Yao, Boone, Najera
true but if McGrady plays like the all-star he is capable of playing with Vince Yao and the team I'll guarantee you that everyone will forget about the situation for the time being.
As I posted on another forum... if we make the swap, Hova will have the cash to try and lure Bron to NJ/Brooklyn, and we will have a replacement for Mcgrady to make one big run at a ring this year with Artest and Yao. We get the better end now, they get better for the future Win-Win. And if Vince's salary comes off in 2011 (which is why I asked) we can try and make a pitch for my man Durant.
why not? Brooks isn't what we think (look back at Head now) trade him while we can. the only one i am worried about is Landry but you have to give something in order to get something back
Its crazy how everyone is saying trade McGrady. He isn't going anywhere( I hope not). I still think if there is a trade, which i hope there isn't, then Artest and Head will be the most likely to go because they are expiring contracts. If McGrady was to get traded I see it happening during the offseason or sometime during next year trading deadline because he is an expiring contract. A large one. Also it depends on how he is playing. Honestly I think he won't get traded. The organization rode the ship this long why would they trade him when he is an expiring to another team when they can just keep him for themselves and have the money come off the cap for themselves.
because in order for a shane-vince trade to work for both teams, ron artest will have to be in the trade as well, otherwise NJ doesn't get enough financial relief to help them. and if both artest and battier is traded... well, that basically goes all of our defence at the wingman position. alston-wafer-carter-scola-yao may have a lot of fire power, but are suspect at best when it comes to defence.
both looked good for us in the begining but in the end we are pissed at them. Brooks will have everyone pissed at him when it is all said and done
everyone needs to stop dreaming, it's been said over and over they're not looking to make a big trade. I'm sure the tmac announcement killed any chance of making a big trade anyway. We're not getting Carter. the nets dont want ron and they dont want a tmac that can't play. They're gonna end up trading him for peanuts, but to another team.
I cannot wait till this deadline has passed. If Nets want more than Hayes, Head, and Dorsey I'd say don't do it. We are so close to getting rid of that horrible feeling of watching someone you know can be absolutely incredible if they only had heart and legitimately tried hard. To trade away the players that never make you question these things for a player like VC or Baron Davis would be devastating to the future of this franchise. We would be in the same exact position regarding our complaints about our "star", only we'd have fewer talented role players. There's nothing worse than paying that 2nd or 3rd NBA League Pass bill only to realize that nothing has changed, and that you convinced yourself of the hype this year just like you did when Mike James and Franchise were signed, and like you did the year before that with Stromile.
The Vince Carter hate is ridiculous, and the comparisons to Tracy are ridiculous. Vince Carter can shoot the basketball. He may not be as good at playmaking, but he's a much better player at this point. Tracy McGrady, even when healthy, has not been a very athletic player for a few years now. Vince Carter may not be as athletic as he used to be either, but he a skill to fall back on that Tracy can only dream about; shooting.
He may be better, but if we're going to trust Adleman's offense, this isn't the guy we want. I don't really know who the best fit would be to be both a star talent and keep the motion going on offense, but I know 3 players that definetly aren't that guy: T-Mac, Baron, and VC.
Vince Carter is a good fit for this offense actually. He can hit jump shots and he moves on the floor. His game is nothing like T-Mac's. That said, it makes no sense to trade for him if it guts the roster.
