According to a very recent article the Rockets are saying that a second opinion is still due regarding whether T-Mac's season is over http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/nba/McGrady_Im_done_Rockets_not_so_sure.html "The Rockets, who learned of Tracy McGrady's supposed season-ending microfracture knee surgery from television reports and his personal website, have not yet agreed that his season is over. "We’re still waiting on second opinions," Rockets GM Daryl Morey said at Wednesday’s Tux & Tennies Charity Gala. “That was the plan originally, and that’s still the plan. I just talked to his agent (Arn Tellem). "That was the plan originally, and that’s still the plan. I just talked to his agent (Arn Tellem). Tracy hasn’t seen the doctor who would likely perform whatever procedure he ends up doing," Morey continued. "The decision on the next step is still to be determined." "Obviously, the most important person in the decision is Tracy. We think it’s best he hears all options before deciding on the final course of action.” As far as McGrady is concerned, the decision is made. It should be safe to cut McGrady, but this situation has turned into a full-blown soap opera. Feb. 19 - 1:00 am et" It appears that Rocket's mgt and Tracy's agent are in agreement to get another opinion and it's McGrady who is running his mouth to Stephen A...This may not be over yet...
Give it up Rockets. If he wants to go through the surgery, let him go through the surgery. It's not like the guy hasn't heard a million opinions already. And it's obvious the TEAM is ready to move on without him. Why can't the MANAGEMENT be ready?
I dont think this is even close to being over, I personally believe the Rockets are doing the right thing in keeping it "all speculation" at this point. Keeps Tmac's trade value up for the time being. I personally think you will see him be moved. Morey isnt afraid of making the bold move. Clippers have already said they are willing to take on Mac's contract even if he is having surgery, but the ball is in the Rockets court in getting the money right. That report just came out at 1 am according to Marc Stein. Send Mac to the Clippers where he will never have to worry about the pressure of getting a team out of the 1st round!
the day tracy mcgrady gets the hell out of a Houston Rockets uniform. The city of Houston is very down to earth and we dont like this whole Drama BS! If he wants drama he can change sports and go play for the f'in COWBOYS, that what their into
I have this sick feeling that Les, by way of Morey just isn't ready to give up on McGrady and still thinks that his knee isn't as bad as McGrady would like to think it is It was Les who very recently stated that "the Rockets were not going to trade McGrady because a team doesn't often get to keep a superstar" and yet the rumors about the Clippers persist. There may be a division of intent amongst Rocket mgt with Morey wanting to cut his losses coming from a business school of thought and Les being more idealistic and hopeful that his dream of T-Mac, Yao and a talented cast can bring the title to Houston. Remember it was Les whos just a couple of years ago declared the Rockets roster to be "possibly the greatest roster ever assembled"? Les may not be the realistic one amongst mgt who eventually prevents the Rockets from cutting their ties with McGrady and keeps holding out hope of HIS vision, while we've lost out on offers to better the team as he keeps believin' in his dream of greatness with his superstar cast... The conflicting doctors reports (or the one alledged MRI that McGrady says supports him packing in the season for the last resort surgery) is making this all the more confusing for a very exciteable and idealistic owner who genuinely thinks he's doing what's in the best interest of the team. Either way confusion and drama rule supreme here and we know who the cause of it is....
Could be first ever 3 sport trade. Tracy to some baseball team who sends a player with football aspirations to the KC Chiefs who then send Tony Gonzales to Houston to play PF. Try that in ESPN's trade machine!..
Sportscenter was reporting the same around 12:30am. That the Rockets have not determined that McGrady is out. They downplayed it though, and also added a humorous jab via Morey.

there is too much confusion for the real thing. Let's wait and see. But I think McGrady just want to search his own benefit regardless of the team . Even he decides operate the microfracture surgery he will not come back ever, he will colse his career. and no team will want such a guy.
