    GETTING CLOSER TO GETTING VINCE

    NBA TV
    Says Houston and San Antonio are in the running for Vince Carter. Houston has a better shot. What's on the table for Houston is Artest/Landry/Head and whats on the table for San Antonio is Bowen/Hill/Mason.

    San Antonio can't make the deal unless they go three-way with somone because of trade restrictions and NJ player trade limit and multiple contract negotiations which violate league rules so Houston may get Vince traded tomorrow.

    I hate to see Artest go. Don't mind so much Landry and especially Head going. Vince would immediately step in for McGrady since he's out.

    Roster will look like this if this goes down tomorrow:
    YAO-------MUTOMBO
    SCOLA-----HAYES
    BATTIER---BARRY
    CARTER---VON WAFER
    ALSTON---BROOKS

    No stand pat. Its not worth giving up all that. To think we can or could have B-Diddy for T-Mac. Not worth it to get Carter.

    no point in trading for carter unless they can get something for mcgrady in a separate deal.

    If all were giving up is basically Artest and Landry I would be more excepting of the deal.

    I guess the nets figured out that Battier is untouchable.

    Mixed feelings on this one, love Artest's heart and constant physical play, but love Carter's playmaking ability.

    I think Landry is closer to his ceiling than people think but I wouldn't do this deal. Carter isn't going to make this team significantly better next year and the Rockets would be taking a step back for this season if Ron and Landry are gone.

    If we do get Carter, I hope he shares no genes with his celeb cousin sister. I really cannot take no dramas. I am a sports fan, not a fan of soap operas.
