As I mentioned many times before, KH has better stats than Rafer's in almost every major category. Very basically, KH shoots better and attacks the rim more often.
according to espn salmons and brad miller are gone too. looks like most the ideas people had on here are getting knocked off pretty rapidly. I expect this will continue all the way through til tomorrow night
Better defender Better shooter Better moving without ball Younger player Fits better with a read and react offense and a Yao centric one.... Better than Rafer in pretty much all areas... DD
I'm iffy on Kirk. I don't know if he's enough of an improvement over Rafer to justify his pay, but I also feel that Rafer's inconsistency has held the Rockets back a bit over the years. Would you trade Ron for Hinrich DD?
Yeah and hasn't had the benefit of playing along side anybody even in the same league as Yao. I'm with D.D. which seems crazy, but Hinrich would give Houston a much better chance.
oh? really? rafer: this season: 33mpg 37%fg 34%3p 79%ft 11.6ppg 5.3apg 3rbg 1.1spg 1.81topg career: 29mpg 38%fg 35%3p 73%ft 10.2ppg 4.9apg 2.8rbg 1.2spg 1.77topg hinrich: this season: 26mpg 42%fg 34%3p 77%ft 8.9ppg 4.6apg 2.5rbg 1.3spg 2.05topg career: 34mpg 41%fg 37%3p 81%ft 14.1ppg 6.3apg 3.5rbg 1.3spg 2.34topg hinrich differential (based on career): +3%fg +2%3p +8%ft +3.9ppg +1.4apg +.7rbg +.1spg +.57topg you think THAT is worth $26 million (over the next 3 years) more than rafer?
I can give you that he is better in those facets, but the differential does not justify the amount of money he is making. he makes more than anyone on our team not named tmac or yao. gimme a break. his contract alone would nearly account for 1/5th of our cap space.
This years stats aren't representative of Hinrich's body of work, he's been out with a hand injury and has been made into a back up by the #1 pick in the draft. Even so, he's put up better numbers then Rafer, and I do think he'd be the third best player on our team if we got him
he's not even the third best player on chicago -- a team that isn't even in the playoffs in the east. you think he would be the third best player on the rockets? wow. also, I never claimed this year's stats were his full body of work. that's why the differential I listed was based on CAREER. I'm well aware of what is going on with the bulls.
The world has turned upside down. DD defending Tracy in one thread, and now he's considering keeping Skip to My Lou over Hinrich. It's been a strange few days for Rockets fans.
I hope you know that your comparing a starting pg's stats to a back up pg's stats. Just throwing that out there
Hinrich is much better than Rafer, only reason Hinrich is sitting on the bench is because Derrick Rose is much better than Hinrich. If we can trade Rafer-Tmac for Hinrich...Hell yes...please....get it done. We ain't getting anything else outta Tmac anyways except a trade.
I am NOT sure....at this point....probably. I would have before Tmac was out, but now I would seriously have to pause and think about it. DD
why do you think the career stats are there? not to mention, he certainly wasn't a backup until this season.
As situations change you have to be able to look at them all individually and not get held back by old data. It is part of why my companies always make money.....you have to make quick and decisive moves based on the now, not the yesterday. DD
You do not trade a valuable two way player like Ron Artest for a minor upgrade over Alston making 26 million more than Rafer. It's not even something worth stopping to think about. With a healthy McGrady, maybe, though i'd have been against it. Now, you need the 2nd scorer in Artest.
Im on the Hinrich train. Have been all along. If its cap relief they want, offer them McGrady and get them to throw in something along the lines of a Tyrus Thomas.
