It's hard to be optimistic when it comes to T-Mac. Dude flops back and forth with his words.

I LOVE T-Mac but right now I'm just really frustrated with how he's dealing with it.

I can't believe that Rockets has not released a statement yet. That's just NOT right.

I bet their PR is having a field day.

How is he screwing over the team with this?

The guy is hurt and needs to have surgery... he's just looking at getting it done and returning next season.

This is the end of his career. Remember, besides the knees, he also has problems with his back and shoulder. And they had brought him big troubles in the past. The chance he has all these problems fixed is just zero, since he's getting old quickly.
It's sad. But we need to accept it and move on.
Since he came to the Rockets, Juwan Howard, Sura, he himself, Yao, he himself again, Yao again... The injuries just never stop hitting. Hope this is the last of it.

It was all about this season, thats why Ron was brought in. The guy basically just crushed it all.

I think this is the end of Tmac, atleast the end in a Rockets jersey. We are witnising the end of a what could have been a great player...

Oh, I'm sure hes going to get a big contract in 2010. Anybody who gets surgery and will miss the rest of the season and probably miss most of next season, always gets a big fat contract the following summer. T-Mac is playing it so smart. Probably the #1 Target right ahead of LeBron and he does that by rehabbing for a year. While these other so called superstars have to actually play and earn a big contract. Thats how good T-Mac is as a player. Name someone else who can have micro fracture surgery and then return to a big fat free agent contract? T-Mac, that's who.

2 double-headed defensive monsters at the Swing (Artest + Battier) + Double headed monsters at the PF. an Emerging Von Waffer.. Alston playing with heart.. Made Lakers cry b4 you know what.. and beat Celtics at home.. I think this has been the best Rockets team since Hakeem era period.. He has more help than even Kobe, Lebron etc in my humble opinion.

You don't think bad managing had anything to do with it? Play through it, play through it. Yeah, Yao and Rafer are out but we should play the injured Tmac instead of shutting it down and letting him get his surgery early enough to be in shape next season...

Houston fans have unrealistic expectations in terms to performance and playing hurt. Check it out Houston... if you play hurt, you're not going to put up ungodly numbers. That's just a fact of life. Also Houston, if you keep playing people hurt, you will further debilitate them.

I remember the "PLAY YAO IN THE FINALS!" threads here. A lot of you seem to think that these players feel no pain or that they owe you their longevity for a stab at a playoff progression. That's not how it works.

So Tracy had one more 13 in 35 left in him. He saw 13 doctors in 35 days until he got the answer he wanted.

Sorry, but I'll believe McGrady is getting microfracture when a real doctor, team sanctioned doctor says he performed the procedure on him or when Morey or Les say it was done. Players don't work this way. They don't get multiple opinions from the best doctors in the world and throw those away, disappear for a few days, show up in Vegas over the weekend and then announce their season is over based on a diagnosis that so far has not been announced by the team or even a doctor.

Did Tmac wikipedia microfracture, decide that's what he needs and blog it? Doesn't sound too far fetched based on how he has conducted himself all year long.

I'm guessing they are kind of busy right now working the phones. Maybe that's why Les said they would have an announcement on Thursday re TMac. Translation: "We're too busy working right now trying to get someone who will actually play for us, than deal with PR regarding someone who won't play. We'll address the TMac situation after the trade deadline, when we have time."

Well, I don't know what to think right now, but I will say this. If Tmac truely does need and get microfracture surgery, then I cannot help but by anything other than furious with the Rocket's medical staff. Telling him to "play through it". You don't play through that type of injury. The thought that he may have made things worse by doing this really upsets me. With that being said, I've never been a big fan of Dr. Tom Clanton based on a personal experience with an ankle injury.

I remember telling my friends all year that Tmac looked like a 60 year old man out there. Being lazy & out of shape does not make a 29 year old move like he is 60, but a serious knee injury could. Does this injury explain that? Possibly. If Tmac is just posturing then this is one of the worst things a pro athlete has ever done to his team and should never be allowed to wear Rockets Red again. If he's not, then this is the worst medical blunder in pro sports history and someone should be held accountable.
