KG is hated, and vastly underrated on this board....

So take what these rooks say with a grain of salt, because I bet you
that any unbiased, intelligent basketball person would take KG over Amare....

For what reason. Kg may be better defensively but Amare is way better offensively, plus I HATE players with the attitude of KG

    Its gotta be

    Paul
    Kobe
    Lebron
    Duncan
    Dwight

KG,Wade,Pierce, and Ray Allen are all tough cuts esp Ray bc of the great numbers he's putting up combined with BOS record, but Paul is flat out the best leader in the league and Wade's Ft% is not soo good, he misses soo many ft and alot of them late in games which to me isn't first team guard material.

Yeah um, dude? I have Lebron and Kobe on the team. For what reason do you think I need offense out of my 4 spot? Garnett is a better fit on my all-nba team. Period. Duncan's nice, but I already explained why I didn't include him.

um, An all-nba team is not about players fitting together, in fact it has absolutely nothing to do with that. It is an individual accomplishment award.

    Paul
    Kobe
    Lebron
    Duncan
    Howard

The All NBA Marketable 1st team would have Duncan out and Wade in.

Sorry kid, I missed that stipulation. <scrolls up> Nope, isn't there. Mine fits together and makes sense. I'm sorry if that isn't something you can live with. I guess that's why it's MY all-nba team and not yours eh?

    F: LeBron
    F: Duncan
    C: Dwight

I hope Yao Ming gets a monster 2nd half and takes over Dwight :D but that's just a dream. Anyways, All-NBA team is not based on position it's based on Guards, Forwards and Centers.

Wade and Kobe easily make the 1st team, Paul will make the 2nd team like Yao.

That's a good point. You're right, it could be Wade over Paul -- particularly if the Hornets continue to disappoint in the second half. The Heat have a shot at home court too

Most people say Wade is arguably the best in the world, not that I think it's true. I think It's Kobe for one. Chris Paul has been starting to become underrated in this league now. In my opinion he might actually be a better player than Dwyane Wade. However, if you are talking about this season, Wade has clearly been better. The Heat would be the worst team in the league again, If they take out Wade. Hornets aren't that bad without Paul but they wouldn't make the playoffs.

If we are just talking about best players in each position, then it would be Paul-Kobe-LeBron-Duncan-Yao, but we are just talking about this season, and It's quite obvious that Wade has had the better season especially since he's been leading the Heat to the playoffs. Hornets have been disappointing as you said.

If I were starting a team and could pick anyone I wanted out of the entire NBA, I may start with Chris Paul. That's hard to say as well because I generally think big men are more valuable. My favorite statistical categories are rebounds and blocks. I simply don't think any others are as "game changing/controlling" as these. Shooters are what they are, the best players make about half their shots. I think it's easier to find guys who can make half their shots than it is to find shot blockers and intense rebounders who allow you to dictate the game's flow. When you know these things and would still pick a point guard first overall, that speaks to the guard's greatness.

If Deron Williams didn't play for the Jazz or have a spray-on haircut/beard, he'd be in my top 2 or 3 guards for similar reasons that would have me choosing Chris Paul.

Guys who are responsible for 50 points a night (either through raw scoring or setting up others via assists) are very rare. These guys are much more valuable than the "glory boys" who score 25-30.

    Chris Paul
    Kobe Bryant
    LeBron James
    Kevin Garnett
    Dwight Howard

that team would beat any other team on the planet.

The only locks are Howard and Lebron, because their are no centers and forwards that close to them. Duncan and KG are competing for the #2 forward (even though we all know Duncan is a center, he is categorized for this as forward)--pick the better individual season or the better team.

Among Wade, Paul & Kobe, only two make it. Stats (cumulative numbers & PER, etc) say Wade & Paul, reputation and team accomplishment says Kobe.

However the All-NBA team usually is about individual accomplishment moreso than the team. Thus RIGHT NOW it should be Paul & Wade as the guards, Lebron & Duncan as the forwards & Howard as the center. But some of these calls are close, the season needs to play out.

Its easy . You guys are thinking too hard. Its quite simple.

    Paul
    Kobe
    Lebron
    Duncan
    Howard

    End of story.

Only minor snubs are garnett and wade.

It is not simple if you have Kobe in and Wade not. Wade is considerably ahead in PER and cumulative stats than Kobe. Or having Paul in and Wade not for that matter (particularly wait and see how they, and their teams, finish post big trades). You basically have 3 solid guard choices who would be ahead of Duncan except that Duncan can take advantage of the #2 forward opening since Duncan opens the 1st five minutes technically in a forward spot.

The only locks are Lebron and Howard, the rest is open.

Kobe is a lock folks. no way he's in the 2nd team with the Lakers having the best record in the league.
