if someone like Leonard Little gets TWO chances...then Vick should get another fair shot.

leonard little should be in prison right now, not michael vick....but you know, dogs>human beings.

EXACTLY. this was my biggest problem with the whole situation. I mean I understand what people are saying, but you have a guy playing that killed PEOPLE and you're adamant on banning a guy who killed dogs?

    Intentional>Accident

I do think he is an embarassment too. I think I would have given up drinking on the spot if I had killed someone because I was driving drunk(Something I couldn't imagine doing in the first place).

After all the education and attention that have been given to the undeniable loss of faculty and impairment that comes with even minor inebriation, I would argue that getting behind the wheel drunk is intent.

so it matters if it's intentional or not? IT'S A PERSON! he killed a PERSON! involuntary manslaughter is still a felony muder is it not? arent you supposed to go to jail for that? that's not somethign you should get a second chance for...let alone TWO.
vick's crime is nothing compared to leonard little's. on top of that, he paid his debt to society. if he can still play, i'd take him on my team. who's to say he hasnt changed and become a better man....like say a Bernard Hopkins. He's actually a good role model now as far as work ethic and being able to turn your life around and accomplish something postive (yes, i know his fights are boring)

i wasnt around the bbs when leonard little killed that lady, but was there the same amount of outrage that there is for vick?

I am in complete agreement with a Mets fan. I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

    (j/k, of course!)

I wasn't a fan of Vick even before all the dog fighting stuff happened. I prefer a pocket passer who can run a little than a runner who can throw a little. Dude hasn't played in 2 seasons and only completed 52.6% of his passes the last season he did play. No thanks.

i agree, but he wins games...or at least he used to. if you're a team that is desperate for a QB, i'd definately take a look....For example the 49ers, who havent been the same since Garcia was released. Since 2002, it's been Tim Rattay, Alex Smith, Shaun Hill, Trent Dildo, JT O'Sully...a Vick fresh outta prison, im sure is better than all of those guys

dude had some of the worst receivers i have ever seen, and a clueless offensive coordinator for most of his career.

One has very little to do with the other. We all learn from birth practically that "two wrongs don't make a right". For some odd reason this seems to be going on a lot in this thread. "Well, at least it wasn't a person. Well, c'mon, we've got drug users in the NFL." etc. etc. This is about Michael Vick and what he did.

Again, I don't care whether he's allowed back or not. But I personally have no respect for him and will have none for any team that signs him...at least for the time being.

Also, random aside, but I can understand being indifferent about dogs and pets, but not liking them? what's to not like (as opposed to ignore)?

Does that apply to college too because he wasn't an effective passer there either.

I can at least understand getting behind a wheel drunk, as I've seen it many times, but to how he could do it again after he had killed someone is terrible.

Little's accident came in 1998, so it predates this forum. Yes it matters if it is intentional or not. Murder requires intent, involuntary manslaugher is not murder. Little should have been in prison after his 2nd DUI, but just because he wasn't doesn't mean Vick deserves to be back in the league. I once watched someone kill a cat stabbing it repeatedly with a knife. It was one of the worse things I ever saw in my entire life. I never thought someone would actually do that. I think mistreating animals, without benefit is a terrible crime. Hopkins was a poor teenager. Vick was a grown adult. Vick didn't give a damn about those dogs. I wouldn't have him work for me, and I wouldn't support an organization that wants people like him. I'd rather be a Lions fan, then have the Titans win a Super Bowl with him on their squad. I'm disgusted by his actions. I was very happy when they got rid of Pacman, another person who I would ban permanently.

All true, I agree with what you said. In terms of "crime", dog fighting is
very low on my list when dealing with someones life and profession...

In other words, I could still be friends with Mike Vick, while I know most
peeps on here would never want anything to do with him...

    Lies.

When Vick was not playing in Schaub came in as a backup, the Atlanta WRs shined. The name receivers are shining under Matt Ryan now.

I think he deserves another shot, but to come back under the same sort of stipulations as pacman jones. Like other's have said he went to jail which is much worse than just being suspended from the NFL. And in case you didn't notice, he wasn't playing too much in jail anyways, so why suspend him again?
