[NY Post] "Racist Monkey" Cartoon?

Wow thats not funny in any way. I can't even fathom what excuse they got for that one

 

it was only a matter of time before the racism card got pulled.

 

do you know what the monkey is referring to? if you say the president then you are wrong.

 

Yeah, don't see how that happened. Even if its not meant to be Obama, thats what pretty much everyone will think. Unless you're looking to prove a point. Also what does two cops shooting the monkey have to do with politics? Maybe I'm just dumb.

Thats a pretty jacked up comic. Funny thing is that a co-worker showed me this just before I came to the bbs.

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand when the race card is pulled a lot of times. This isn't one of those times.

 

In statistical mechanics there was always the joke of a million monkey writing on a million typewriters they would PROBABLY never write the declaration of independance.

I think thats what the joke was supposed to be. A monkey just randomly threw things in there.

Plus I am pretty sure Obama did not write the stimulus.

there was an attack by a 200 pound chimpanzee the other day, i'm pretty sure that's what the drawing referenced.

I think it's referencing the chimp attack that just happened.

Still stupid since the obvious racial connection will be made by most, but the point was probably that the bill is so stupid it was written by the monkey that just got killed.

 

Yeah I can see that. Like you said though, the immediate response was pretty much a given. I'm all for standing up for freedom of speech and all that, but in this case the payoff doesn't seem worth the headache. Again I can see what the guy was trying to do, but can also understand the negative reaction.
