They just had Darrel Morey on 610 and he said Tracy did not let the rockets know about this (being out for the season)....he sounded a little pissed that Tracy would go to Steven A smith before he let the people who cut his check...Thats just Mcrady for you...he is trying to screw everybody over.... Andre Ware said he wouldn't be surprised if this is still a gimmick by Tmac so he won't be traded and that after deadline is gone, he will reveal he does not need microfracture surgery....woiuldn't that just be a kick in the $SS....i woiuldn't doubt it with him though... anyways, i'm sure this has been posted already but latest Rumor....Tmac for Barron davis...if Morey pulls this off, he deserves a statue in front of Toyota Center....
- tmac is in chicago, he hasn't talked with the team yet so no information about his potential season ending surgery. - they still hope to get Tracy back healthly this season. morey will talk to tmac and they will make the decision. - the baron davis for tmac rumor is untrue. tmac is not gonna be traded - even without McGrady this team can still be great and win games. - the main focus at the trade deadline is to add a top player. it could be mcgrady comming back but they don't count on him - the team may get some players who will help to get better players in the future (like Artest) - they have already tought about some minor changes - they try to balance future needs with current needs. right now they are focused more on current than the future. they think this team can be special this season and next 2 seasons.
When you look at the team, what else do you want? You have T-Mac, a superstar guard who can score and is a great passer, Yao Ming - best center in the NBA, Ron Artest - 3rd scoring option and a great defender. This team has all the pieces. The problem is they can't stay healthly. Last year it was Yao, this year it looks like it is gonna be McGrady.
I'm starting to really believe that is the case. I find it hard to believe it is coincidence that ESPN was reporting the Rockets were close to a TMac for Carter trade and the SAME NIGHT TMac is announcing he needs season ending surgery and doesn't even tell the team but instead runs to make it public on ESPN.
Morey should just sit T-mac out for the rest of the season. No need to try and talk him into playing this season. This team will never be consistent with this T-mac situation looming over there head. Make one decision to sit or return for good(sit seems the best) and stick to it.
I'll give it a try. There wasn't that much said, but here you go. (On the ESPN report that T-Mac will need microfracture surgery) Morey: Tmac's meeting with another doctor in Chicago and Mory plans to meet another doctor with Tmac in NY. - there are a lot of options and "the one that's out there (microfracture) is the most extreme" - we think we're still very good. our main focus is to add a top player. we need another top player with Yao, that could be Tmac coming back but we're not counting on that. we're looking at the assets on the team and we'll try to turn that into another player - the help may not be direct, may be acquiring something now to help add a top player later - we're looking for a big improvement that might be difficult to achieve, as well as a few minor things, small but right moves to upgrade the team - the big report yesterday about us being involved in a major player (vince carter probably) was inaccurate. "We haven't really had any talks involving Tracy" - (about players talking to media instead of keeping it in-house) agrees it's frustrating but it's not unique to Rox. Kind of blames media but nature of business. There's no solution for it. Just makes things harder because time spent deflecting rumors - we're still very focused on current than the future. if we can currently upgrade team in significant way then we'll do that. a move may not directly help us now, but puts us in a better position in future. "we still think this core can be special" this season or next or further. etc. - Show host (don't know name) says last night's game shows this team can compete now. Morey agrees. we're in a good situation unlike Hornets which made a move (chandler) b/c of financial reasons, cap situation and economy - even doing nothing, we're still in a good position this year. that said, we're going to try to upgrade, but we'll make moves that make sense. we don't have to make moves forced by the economy (like hornets) - (On McGrady for Baron Davis rumor) I haven't seen the rumor, haven't been commenting on rumors. As Les said, tracy's not involved in trades. Don't know where rumors come from - (on next five games at home, good start vs. Net. Great things achievable this year?) Absolutely. Hopefully healthy Tmac, which is big help, but even without Tmac, as you saw last night, we could still be pretty good. "But we're not sitting on our hands" - (On West race, after top three) lot of volatility in western contenders.. a lot of activity among the teams (trade talks), it will be interesting what unfolds. That's about it.
Am I the only one who thinks it is strange that T-mac hasn't talked to the team about the season ending injury?
We should move and put him on IR later today -- Tracy seems to need to learn a lesson about how to handle this type of situation.
Best option is for the team to get rid of TMac for good. I hope the Chicago Doctor can give him good news and he can be dealt tomorrow, never say never.
A texter texted into 610 saying to trade T-Mac for Candace Parker. At least she'll play and she's pregnant. Greatness.
