I am hopeful that he just gets the microfracture surgery and sits out the year for two reasons. A) To take all the time he needs and to come back as the T Mac that I can honestly say I love to see play the game. and B) To sit out and not be the focus of this season and this board. I have grown tired of coming to the boards here and seeing so many just down a human being with health issues that we don't really know all the truth about. It has degraded this board IMO to a bunch of hack health professionals and psychotherapists. It was said in the past that keeping the boards as a subscription based forums was best but I have seen the criticisms from many of those regulars here before the opening of the boards. Maybe now we can get back to Rockets ball instead of the fan / media induced drama surrounding Tracy. I figure only he and God know what is truly ailing him and some around here feel that they know better. Ha. I am just glad it may be over for now. Get healthy McGrady and whether you come back to the Rockets or get healthy and play elsewhere I hope you come back to Houston one day and put all the criticism here and elsewhere to rest.
good. now we can finally get on with the season and move past all this drama. i just hope the rockets follow this up with an announcement of their own stating the same. we are much better without t-mac...cant wait to see what we do now. we've got just under 30 games to get the ship righted and make some noise in the playoffs. go rockets.

According to Smith TMac wanted the surgery because he plans to be player that people will be wanting to give a good contract since he wants to be a player talked about in 2010 FA Summer along with Lebron and Wade TMac believes he will be wanted in the same way.
i certainly hope so. i know people don't like tmac for all the drama he caused so far...but it's still too early to declare victory against tmac... tmac led the same team minus yao and ron to 55 wins and 2 wins in the first round. that's not exactly a walk in the park for the current team to top.
They just had Darrel Morey on 610 and he said Tracy did not let the rockets know about this (being out for the season)....he sounded a little pissed that Tracy would go to Steven A smith before he let the people who cut his check...Thats just Mcrady for you...he is trying to screw everybody over.... Andre Ware said he wouldn't be surprised if this is still a gimmick by Tmac so he won't be traded and that after deadline is gone, he will reveal he does not need microfracture surgery....woiuldn't that just be a kick in the $SS....i woiuldn't doubt it with him though... anyways, i'm sure this has been posted already but latest Rumor....Tmac for Barron davis...if Morey pulls this off, he deserves a statue in front of Toyota Center....

I'm not a tmac fan but i think that this sucks for him and the rockets. this surgery is tough. most never make it back to the level they were before. amare is looking pretty good but he's not the same. rockets can win without him...but won't be able to win big unless a major move is made. yao is awesome...but too easy to defend in a situation where there is no go to guy. playoffs will expose wafer, brooks, etc level of players. without tmac we are pretty good but not great. very similar to how we are with tracy in and yao out. i see the same 1st round exit coming. but the positives are that the young will develop and get experience.
