great post. agree completely. tracy was just seeking an opinion that would coincide on his own opinion. we'll never know what really is going on because the media only reports from the player's perspective. we won't be able to find out what's going on in tracy's mind. but the preponderance of evidence points out that your post is pretty much spot on.

mclady is what he is. a selfish, lazy primadonna who also has an incredible knack of brushing aside criticism and drawing sympathy from the media and the fans. i cannot think of player who actually makes you feel sorry for him and forget about his selfish and detrimental qualities.

Who will have the fastest fall from grace? Stevie or Tracy?

One more thing: he doesn't have to go through with it. He can make an announcement and then reverse himself a couple of weeks later.

If i could believe that tmac was strong mentally, then yes, this would make sense. The problem is he says different things every day, always contradicting himself. Tomorrow he'll prob say ESPN is lying and he'll be in the lineup soon.

Well said OP! Now I have two wishes for the team

    1) pass the first round this year without tracy

2)able to trade his expiring contract to another team after he's back next year.

Yall must be smoking from Mike Phelp's bong if you think he's getting surgery so he won't get traded. Talk about an extreme reach. First he was faking an injury, now hes getting surgery so he doesn't get traded. I think hes the one who shot JFK. What's next? Will he use his mind powers to force the Rockets into giving him a lifetime contract? I'm predicting it now.

Ya and if he does that and the Rockets allow him to come back and play after this BS I will find it really hard to pay money to the Houston Rockets anymore. They are letting this guy take them for a ride and it is killing any chance of a Championship. Never in my wildest dreams did I think T-mac would have been the cancer of this team when we have Artest here. I have lost any respect I had for the guy.

Maybe he was saying what the Rockets told him to say.

Is it possible to undergo a "minor" microfracture surgery? It doesn't seem like an option you go with just so you have an excuse to sit a player. If this is something he's going to do, there needs to a real medical need for it. And if that's the case, then that means there's been a pretty good reason for his poor performance this year, and a lot of people on this board (including myself, at times) have been pretty unfair to him.

i don't get this "he'll be valuable as an expiring next year". marbury is a 20+ mil expiring this year, why hasn't ny been able to move him?

    With McGrady, that's actually plausible.

Funny thing is last month these same people claimed that he was slacking and sitting out because he wanted to be traded from Houston.

Now they have flipped to the other side of the coin.

What's so hard to understand if it's true? He would change his story once the trade deadline is passed.

Unlikely. Feigen at the Chronicle reports that the Rockets were completely stunned by this. They're not even commenting.

The facts are simple. T-Mac undergoes another MRI. His camp leaks to Channel 2 that microfracture may be required. Andrews says the MRI shows no change. The Rockets medical staff says the MRI shows no change. T-Mac denies that he's going to have surgery. He claims he'll be back after the All Star Break.

Now microfracture is back on the table. The Rockets organization is completely "stunned". Frankly, I'm not sure that T-Mac is going to be gone for the rest of the season, although I heartily wish that he was. I think there's every possibility of him pulling more garbage and creating more drama.

The guy's a giant head case. Neurotic to the extreme.

I'm just going to say something to show just how dumb this idea is. When a person goes under the gas before surgery, there is no guarantees that the person will come back up. That's one of the reasons why those doctors have the highest malpractice cost. Grant Hill almost died because he accumilated a staph infection. With all the dangers associated with surgery, people are supposed to believe that a man wants to volunteer for surgery just to block a trade? I thought I've heard it all being a black man in the south.
