If so, A LOT of blame needs to be placed on the Rockets and their medical staff.

How does this crap keep happening year after year?

If this report is correct,it explains a lot of things. I've never thought of him as a tough player, but I'll always wish him the best.

On one hand, that feels good. On the other hand, it still T-mac, at the bottom of my heart I was still hoping for him to come back in the playoffs and whoop some culo. I think our only chance now of winning the championship is if Artest becomes the Sacramento Kings Artest.

Put yourself in his shoes, as much as you dont want to admit any sportsperson is a competitor, Sure McGrady didnt compete as hard as he could but there is a valid reason. Go back to last year could you really complain how he was playing?? Dont doubt someone when your not in their shoes, he will be devistated by this and how can he not be?? Oh cos he has a $100mil in the bank right??? sure he gets paid but im sure he would rather be healthy helping this team try an advance. Sadly its not going to happen.
    .
Say all you want about "YOUR ROCKETS" but Tmac has been a huge part of THIS ROCKET team for the last 4 years. Sadly not many around here appreciate what he has done, even if it hasnt resulted in a playoff victory. Il still be cheering for the Rockets and McGrady when he comes back.

I harbor no ill will towards Tracy, and I hope he's able to have a successful recovery, but I'm relieved to see the drama and uncertainty come to an end.

The significance in this is that Juwan Howard and Tyronn Lue are the only remaining active NBA players from the 2004 Francis-McGrady trade.

    end of his career.

athletes come back as a shell of their former selves after this type of surgery. and that's with tons of rehab. we all know how dedicated tmac is when it comes to rehab. plus, coming back as a shell of his production this year (15-5-5) would be role player production.

the rockets will trade his ending contract this summer.

I totally agree durvasa. Just a dismal year... I seem to just shake my head daily at this noise.

First, I want to hear this from the Rockets first. If T-Mac told that to Stephen A., that's no different than what T-Mac's group told Channel 2 in the initial report (btw, props to Channel 2 if this is true since they took some flack for the breaking report).

As for the Rockets in general, just a major letdown. Every year we go in feeling like it's the most talented Rockets team ever and every February we seem to be crushed by injuries. If he really is out for the year, let's hope this is the start of a different Rockets team.

I think the Rockets can still definitely make the playoffs with the team they have. Yao is one of the best players in the NBA, Battier is a great defender, Artest plays very well when Tracy doesnt play, Scola is one of the most consistent players in the league, Wafer is a deadly shooter, Landry and Brooks are great off the bench, Barry and Deke can both bring a great veteran presence and Hayes brings great D off the bench, and Luther (once he comes back) can shoot very well and can run some point.

Will the Rockets bring up either Dorsey or Leunen or will they sign someone (Possibilities: Sam Cassell if he is waived, Steve Francis, Shaun Livingston, Bonzi Wells, Kirk Snyder, Mike Harris, Salim Stoudamire, Antione Walker, Robert Horry)

It's people like you that actually make me really upset.

You have no room to talk, the man is legit injured and you're sitting there criticizing him.

    A) Who CARES if he was in Las Vegas and partied a little, that's his prerogative has a person.

    B) He has given nothing but everything he has here, and out of all the players on our team, I actually enjoyed watching him the most.

Some people need to cut him some slack, and need to treat him like a human, and no one should be HAPPY that one of our players is out for the season, regardless of our record with or without him this season.

    Grow up.

This didnt say out for regular season. So i'd guess there's some microfracture surgery or something to keep him out the entire time
