I think this is actually quite debatable. In my opinion, I would much rather have Von Wafer start over Ron Artest for the 2 guard position. Although Von Wafer is an extremely explosive guard in the NBA and would fit in quite well with Aaron Brooks in the fast break. I believe what Von Wafer does to start off games in the 1st quarter is quite valuable. I could remember when he started he would always get 10 points in like 5 minutes.

Also, Ron Artest is also a defensive lock-down like Shane Battier, so it would make no sense to send in 2 perimeter lock down defenders in a lineup, especially when often times there aren't 2 elite offensive wing players. In my opinion, I would just rather see Von Wafer start due to his offensive ability and his consistency offensively. Ron Artest is a great offensive player himself, but I believe the Rockets should also utilize his defensive abilities. Artest needs to conserve his energy on the bench in the beginning of the games to lock-down the defender Battier just locked down.

So, my take is Von Wafer.

Ron Artest, starting, can set the tone defensively and with his energy.

I agree. Von and Ron should not play together. However I don't know if Ron/Battier or Von/Battier is better to start the game however. And whos the odd man out to finish the game? One of them or Scolandry?

Shane Battier can do the same, although Artest and Yao work together great offensively, I think Wafer and Yao work better.

I mean Artest really doesn't beat people off the dribble to often and chances are if he does he would just finish himself, Wafer is unselfish enough to dish it out or finish himself.

I like what Wafer does, and how much energy he brings in the beginning of the games. I believe Artest deserves more minutes, but I believe Von Wafer deserves to start.

I voted Artest, but would be fine with Wafer too, he needs to play 24+ mpg.

    tough tough tough.

Wafer with his tunnel vision or Artest with his bad shot selections. I'm only stating their flaws; they have good qualities too.

Honestly it doesn't really matter. I think if we keep him, Artest will get the nod just cause Coach is so loyal to his vets, but what I would do is Check out the match up and use the best player with the advantage.

Honestly, I don't mind either one starting, but they have to get used to whatever role they are in so then we can win consistently.

To me, I believe Artest should finish the game. However, we are talking about who should start here. Von Wafer should easily start in my opinion, he's really a 1st quarter player and he brings a lot of energy to the game during the 1st half.

I believe somebody on this forum once mentioned He wasn't a 2nd half player? That may or may not be true, however. I would prefer Artest finishing the game, but I would prefer Wafer starting the game.

One of the Rockets' weak points this season has been getting off to a good start, we usually would be getting off to a good start if Von Wafer is playing. That being said, Von Wafer deserves to start if you ask me. I don't care if he finishes, he just deserves to start.

We need Ron to set the tone of D, because Von is not that good at D.

It is true, Von Wafer isn't the best defender in the world. However, we also have this guy named Shane Battier in the starting lineup as a I mentioned. He is a better defender than Artest and he can set the tone. Right now, I believe we need someone to set the tone offensively outside of Yao Ming. Von Wafer can just that in the 1st quarter with his blazing speed and lights out shooting.

Ron Artest and it's not close. The fact Wafer is winning the poll is mind boggling to me. Wafer is a nice story, but he has his first decent game in a month and he deserves to start? Give me a break.

Artest is the better offensive and defensive player, he better be starting.

Ron should have been starting all along. Von is a wonderful story, but he's not yet at that level.

Just because Artest is the better player doesn't mean he should start.

Manu Ginobili is probably the 2nd best player on his Spurs, Does he start? No, he's been coming off the bench for 2 years now and they won a title under him doing that.

Ron Artest is the 2nd best player on the Rockets, I don't think he should start unless Wafer isn't playing. Rockets have enough defense in the starting lineup, it's time to add some offense.
