Don't take Les' words too seriously. Of course he would say good things about TMac when he found that he was sure we could NOT get a good deal before the trade deadline. If you are screwed with a bad asset you will just try to drive up its value as much as you can. Les is doing just that in the hope of having TMac back some time in the future. His value will only go down indefinitely if he "Marbury" him and isolate him from the whole team.

Simply put: "TMac is a great player and steps up in the playoff blah blah blah..." => "We can't get a good deal yet. Be patient, fans."

    Tmac is Les' money maker.

I'm not stepping into that toyota center as long as tmac is there.

Tracy McGrady, valuable in the playoffs. Very believable, Les.

Les, Tracy McGrady is playoff KRYPTONITE.

    Meaningless!

Les puts his foot in his mouth more often than Joe Biden. Les announced Cynthia Cooper was coming back to the Comets at Tux n Tennies and Van Chancellor had NO IDEA about it. He dropped his drink and started swearing! Les has also called a Rockets team one the greatest of all time... Les is Les - he pays people money to shut up and leave him alone!

If Les can't trade Tracy, SURE he'd say this...and he SHOULD say this. Otherwise, It's a complete non-story. ZERO!! If a trade comes up that the Rockets want to make with Tmac - that trade will made before the day ends! Period!

Les coming to the rescue of the NBA's most fragile ego - Tracy McGrady again coddled like no other. It's like voodoo - these guys kiss Tracy's a$$ and I don't even think they know WHY - they just do - like a trance - or is it.....

...that old black magic? (He WAS a Magic!

I think you are on to something here. I like a good conspiracy theory anyway.

I think it's because no one wants him now, might as well say something like that.

Ironic. The Rockets are dominating another sub .500 team without T-Mac. There's no question they play better without him.

Any chance the upcoming announcement is that T-Mac is done for the year?

I think Les is suffering from memory loss. Otherwise, no idea on what he was thinking.

Bring in Vince in McGrady's role
    Maintain our playoff seeding
    Sit/rehab McGrady through March
    Have McGrady ready for playoffs
    McGrady/Carter/Yao
    Win

But his personal stats indicate that Leslie's statement is truthful.

I nearly got flamed out of existence for suggesting that a number of weeks ago. Now it is obvious to everyone.

Did you realize that we have a No 1 overall center who continually never dominates in the playoffs and/or gets dominated by the opposing center every time?

Why would he realize that? He's a Mac hater.

McGrady ALWAYS ups his play during the playoffs... He's Warren Moon. He somehow has less support come round one.
