Yes, so what's your point? Everyone was interested in seeing how Vince is playing this season. Aside from the "music," which NIKEstrad didn't choose, I'm assuming (and sucked, IMO!) what I saw was a wing who still attacks the basket, plays with passion, and can make his shots from Downtown. Looks like something we could use! I also like the idea of having large expiring contracts the next two seasons after this one.

Of course, it's not my wallet paying the luxury tax.

He's also one of the most clutch players in the NBA. Carter solves almost all of our problems.

Morey has to get rid of Artest. I can see why he is interested in Carter. As NIKE pointed out from the Battier article, whatever Morey's method is, it shows high value for Carter in terms of winning.

The only concern is his contract. While it is not fantastic, it is also not detrimental. Carter isn't a long term solution. That much is obvious. But if he can be useful for two seasons, then that's probably achieves the goal of the trade.

If TMac can be half of his old self this season, we might even go far in the playoffs with Carter. Carter is a far better offensive player than Artest.

Carter seems like such a ball stopper, and I agree with durvasa, McGrady's contract is going to be pure gold next year. I know we want to win now, but this is a high risk move that might screw us over for the next few years. I'd rather this move be all Morey and not pushed from any owner. I hope we're smart about this and don't trade away our depth or our future.

A lot of people are not looking at the Grady/capspace issue deeply enough.

If you hold on to Grady until next year (and totaly ignoring Grady's health), your potential salary trade partner MUST meet two criteria. They must want cap space for the Summer of LeBron AND they must have players you want.

There is a HUGE probablity that the players under the conditions stated will NOT be better than VC. And that the incoming stated players will NOT all have expiring contracts taking you further out of the 2010 competition.

The list of good players serving as UFAs is pretty long in 2010. Tmac having an expiring $23 million contract will make the Rockets one of the biggest players in the trading game come next year. That gives us 2 options: Trade Tmac for a player we like ( I think there will be sufficient suitors to meet your 2 criteria) and let his contract expire making us players in the Summer of Lebron. Either way we can't lose. I think it's better to milk Mcgrady's value and wait rather than putting all our eggs in 31 year old VC's basket

All I'm saying is I could easily put together a 2008-2009 T-Mac mix of highlights, replay them 2 or 3 times, and it would look just as awesome. The problem is it would be completely misleading :(. VC is way better than the current T-mac, but we would be foolish to believe that a mix video proves he's capable of taking this team anywhere. Especially not for the asking price.
