If Dirk continues to go off like he has in the 3 previous play off series what excuse will we use for his good play this time? Since we have already determined that Dirk is not possibly good enough to put those numbers up on his own and we can't use the same excuse about the Kings being out gunned, what will be our excuse?

I can promise you Dirk wont have the same kind of numbers in this series vs the Kings that he had vs the T-Wolves. He put up 33 and 20 boards a game for the series. NO WAY does he get 20 boards a game in this series. I see Dirk getting 23 and 10.

I also see Webber matching his numbers and I feel that the Kings will pull this out. It will be hard, but I feel they can against the Mavs. Najera vs Webber? HA! You have GOT to be kidding me.

Dirk had 33/15, I think. I expect him to have something similar in this series.

Have you watched Najera much? I am a Mavs fan and I am HOPING that Najera plays Webber most of the time. Najera played Webber in that last game and Najera made him work very hard for everything he got. Najera is very good player at times, especially against players 6-10 and shorter.

Don't underestimate Najera. Even though Garnett still put up big numbers against him, he wasn't the factor that he could have been and I definitely give that credit to Najera for disrupting his rhythm. Also did you notice how Najera almost single-handedly clinched game 3 of the T-Wolves series in the last 2 minutes.

well of course you like Najera if you are a Mavs fan.

Anyways, If Webber takes it to the basket Najera can't do anything about it except foul him. Najera cannot hold Webber. Garnett should have gone inside VERY time but he wanted to shoot short hooks and jumpers and he missed them. Najera wasnt guarding Garnett, Garnett was guarding Garnett. He didnt play it the right way because he could have gotten every whistle had he taken it to the basket. If Webber takes it to the rack, Najera cant do anything about it.

I dont think Dirk can keep up 33/15. The kings rebound pretty well as a team. I think 23/10 is more like it.

You think Peja "no D" Stojackitup is going to hold Dirk "big bright shining star" Noconscience to 23 ppg?

I like Najera because I watch him play every game. I don't just like him because he is a Mav. I didn't like Juwan or Hardaway and they were Mavs. If you watch him play, you will understand. Webber won't drive it much against Najera. Najera makes him work too hard.

Najara is for the Mavs what Scott Pollard is for the Kings. He hustles, rebounds and plays defense. He is the kind of player that will get under your skin if he is not on your team. He will have an effect on Webber.

    emoreland,
Dirk put up similar numbers against Malone and Duncan in last years play offs so why do you think he will drop below his play off avg for this series when he should get more shot attempts in this series than any of the previous three series?

Remember that Dirk has a streak of at least 30 pts and 15 rebounds during the play offs that is only matched by Kareem Abdul-Jabar. You should also remember that Dirks streak started in last years play offs so this is no fluke. You should also remember that both Sac and Dal ignore the shot clock so there will be a lot more shots in this series than in a series with the T-Pups, Spurs or Jazz.

Peja, who drew the defensive assignment versus Nowitzki today, didn't do too bad on defense.

How much did Dirk score in that first game? Did you happen to watch it?
