Bosh > Amare in all ways. He can get his own baskets, he is not a product of a good PG.

i'd rather have amare, but his contract is enormous, but he does have the mid range game, is athletic, and probably top 3 PF in the league. but he did have that surgery a few years back, not sure if he's going to ever be the same. i know he's been playing well, but maybe the injury bug will catch up with him.

this trade reminds me a lot of the barkley trade. giving up a lot of depth for talent.

    ESPN's Ford writes:

Speaking of Carter, well-placed league sources say there is a good chance Carter is moved before the trade deadline. San Antonio, Dallas and Cleveland have all been mentioned as possible destinations, but sources say that the emerging dark horse is Houston.

A trade of Carter and Trenton Hassell for Tracy McGrady would achieve two goals for New Jersey: It would get the Nets another $15 million further under the cap in 2010, and it would allow them to remain competitive in the interim.

It appears that the oft-injured McGrady has worn out his welcome in Houston, so it's hard to see why the Rockets wouldn't make that deal.

Would you guys do that trade??? Then you can still trade Artest for a Mike Miller.

    Yao
    Scolandry
    Miller/Battier
    Carter
    Alston

No way under any circumstances would I agree to trade Artest for Miller.

I don't know if Artest can get along with VC, but I would rather look to get a PG instead of Mike Miller. It would be nice if Ron can co-exist with VC.

That is about the best case trade scenario that we have at the moment, but doubtful it happens. Not impossible, but doubtful.

Actually Brooks and Landry are not much younger than Amare.

However, I guarantee you Morey WILL analyze those numbers and give them full consideration. IMHO the potential improvement KH would externally would still be too small to justify his statistical parity with Rafer.

A legitimate outside threat as occasionally demonstrated by Brooks shows how effective we can be.

What DD doesnt understand is that Hinrich is above average at best and makes 10Mill a year...

You cant ignore the financial impact.

Hinrich wouldnt even start this year and you can seriously question whether he would start next year.

    Just not worth it.

rockets trading for carter is almost like mavs trading for kidd. I mean, how much mileage VC got left? He's 32!! I know he's got better stats than kidd, but i think he's pretty much a short term solution, and a very expensive one that might cost our best defenders and potentially future starting PF.

    Great post.

If we can move Tracy(beans) for him though, have no problem with losing anything else.....

The important thing is that we keep Yao-Ron-Vince. We can build around that
with veterans(Robert Horry and Sammy?) and youth (Von Wafer)...

Scola is an untouchable and will be great as always....

Chuck and Von will have increased roles, which I like alot. I wish
we could see some Joey out there...

I understand the impact, quite well thank you, I just think you get rid of a similar impact in Artest....and fill his role with Battier, Tmac, Wafer, and Barry....

So to me, the money is a bit of a wash.

Uh, after this season, Artest has 0 years and 0 dollars remaining on his contract.

Heinrich has something like 3 years and 30 million or 4 years and 40 million, I forget exactly which.

in what bizarro alternate universe is this "a wash"?
