Ill be sad for Landry, but in the long run its better for the team. Morey will not let Artest walk without getting something in return.
At this point in the season, NJ would have to release 2 players if they did this proposed VC for Landy, Head and Artest. Surely they would keep Landry; Head might be waivable. Why not Boone? or Sean Williams?
Boone has been mentioned as a possibility.Rod Thorn probably would prefer to move Sean Williams instead but I feel DM countered by insisting on Boone. I didn't realize that NJ needs to move 1 more player even after adding Boone or Williams. How many players can the Rockets take back if they move Artest,Head, and Landry? Could the rights to Boki Nachbar be included in a trade? That could help the Nets to retain anyone else on their squad. I'm sorry for my ignorance in this matter,I could see CDR coming to Houston and then being cut so the Nets could take him back. He has a small contract but will this cause the LT to come into play?
Technically, you could say if McGrady puts his mind set, he could be the best nba player in the league. I mean he already has the talent, it's his mind set that makes him an underachiever. Also, with Mac's knee in this condition, he's going to be bad on defense whether he wants to or not.
I agree 100%, Artest is to valuable as trade asset. By the way, I don't think he is going to resign anyway and that's why we should deal him. Could we give up Hayes + draft pick instead of Landry?
Agree about Mike Miller, he's not worth an expiring contract, Donte Greene and a future 1st round pick.
Greene is last year's melted snow. He's gone no matter what you do at this point. It's called sunk cost. You have Artest now...the question is, do you keep him and let him walk (since it seems likely the rox aren't interested in bringing him back)...or do you get value now while you can?
Exactly, why think about the past? It's like someone trading you money for work, do you think about what you did to get the money before spending it?
So, the title of this thread is about how NJ is "very interested" in Artest, but the thread is about how they are NOT interested in Artest?!
Hey guys, I was reading an article on espn about a possible trade including T-Mac to NJ for Vince Carter. The article states that NJ would like this trade because it would give them an extra 15 mil in 2010 for the big free agents. I propose this trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=by6per I'm not sold on Stromile Swift but this would work money wise, plus NJ has way too many PF's, they likely would want to dump a PF especially Stro.
Yes, that's exactly how I decided against buying that plastic singing fish. Well, that and it didn't match my decor.
Obviously we rid ourselves of T-Mac and get VC. Stro can back up Yao and provide some shot blocking.... again not excited about Stro but if that's what it takes to get T-Mac/VC deal done then I say DO IT!
True, but he is worth Battier and a filler. I think Adelman's system is built for a player like Miller; though we pay him a bit more than Battier, his contract has one less year and expires in the infamous 2010. I would love to trade Battier and Cash for Miller; if thats possible.
If a T-Mac/VC deal could get done... then next on my wish list would be some type of a Battier/ M. Miller swap. I like Artest but I would like Morey to ensure that we get something out of him before we lose him to Free Agency. I am greedy!
I just want to see the team change. They've already proved to us that they can't win in the playoffs with the current group. Carter would be exciting, but so would Andre Miller or Chris Duhon. It's time for a change Morey. Tweak away. Check out this three-teamer I concocted... Houston gets.... SG Vince Carter, SF Maurice Ager, Jersey's 2010 2nd rd pk New Jersey gets.... SF Ron Artest, SG Daequan Cook, PF Udonis Haslem Miami gets.... PG Rafer Alston, PF Yi Jianlian, PG Luther Head Explanation: --Houston gets it's Vinsanity & the expiring contract of Ager. --Jersey gets Artest like they wanted, as well as two young talents to keep them competitive, both of whom have contracts that expire the summer of 2010. --Miami not only gets a true point guard which they badly needed, but a backup as well. Yi fits Miami's system much better than Haslem, and is much cheaper, not to mention Alston and Yi expire in 2010. Being left without a backup for Brooks, Houston rips this one off the very next day: Houston gets.... PG Nate Robinson New York gets.... SF Maurice Ager, SF Von Wafer, Jersey's 2010 2nd rd pk. Everyone's happy!
get ready to get bashed about this idea. It's horrible. Miami hangs up the phone on you and you would be fired from the rockets organization. This 3 team trade is just plain oh horrible. sorry
