Sorry to bump this thread, but can anyone recommend a good ringtone creator that's free that I can download online? I had one, but I deleted it because it sucked. Also, let us know what phone you decide on and how you like it.
the successor to the HTC dream will not be coming anytime soon, not until all manufacturers start pushing out the next gen of technology, its hard to surpass the current class though a good way to know when the next round of elites will be released is to keep your eyes on apple, apple 3g is still the champ, HTC dream has clawed into the market share, but they're both in their infancy stages anyway, i bumped this thread to let u know i'm choosing the curve 8900 for my phone upgrade, which will be wednesday... cant wait upgrading from a t-mobile shadow, which is a product of HTC, it's a shame that most HTC phones are backed by windows mobile.... windows mobile BLOWS, however recent news surfaced regarding major upgrades to the windows mobile OS, which looks promising, but i won't be sold until there's some solid reviews 0.02
I need some Curve help. Every now and then mine will just shut off for no reason. The battery is NOT showing that it's dead. I'll take it out and put it back in and it'll attempt to reboot but then shut down again. Other times it'll come back up and stay up for awhile. Again...the battery is not showing that it's dead or near dead. Any idea what could be causing this?
Was your phone near water? The random turning off and shutting down once you reboot is pretty common when some water or liquid gets in the phone.
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=General_Functions&thread.id=984 Have you updated the OS?
not long since all the rumors about the new spiffy windows mobile OS, it was unveiled today, and folks... it's impressive (at least the sources think so) damn, this dampens my sparks about the 8900 a bit, but nonetheless, windows mobile 6.5 is still new, and not projected to hit the market until late 4th quarter http://i.gizmodo.com/5154385/windows-mobile-65-hands-on-the-new-interface-rocks http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/16/windows-mobile-6-5-walkthrough-with-engadget/ with new tech being pushed out by the galaxies, i dont know whether to feel like a kid in a candy store or be worried that the industry is starting to lose structure
decrease in productivity incoming..... everyone will be on hulu catching up on their favorite tv shows on the company dime.... at least that's what i'll do
I beat my cell phones to death because of my extensive travels and business dealings. I have been through quite a few models in the last couple of years. I've had the Blackberry Pearl, Curve, and now the Bold. The Bold is light years ahead of the Pearl and Curve. Internet surfing is great -- you can see the whole screen and it's much faster. Overall, I'm very pleased with the phone. The Pearl was a disaster -- I had the slim one where each key had two letters on it. Horrible experience.
Is that the new Curve? Let me know how the internet surfing is! If TJ says the BOLD is great with internet surfing then the new curve should be good with the internet... I'm just waiting until this summer to get a new phone because I have way too many bills to take care of first.
heres the thing, hardware aside, i believe in the future we're all just going to pick our liking upon the software, currently there are some mobile OS giants iphone OS, exclusive to apple android, open linux microsoft mobile, work in progress RIM, exclusive for blackberry webOS, sounds like huevos jajaja, palm pre exclusive atm they're all good in their own right, however, iphone and android are the leaders right now as far as surfing the web is concerned, here's some things you'll need to ask yourself 1. what kind of speed do i wan FORGET THIS HOLY SHT MY BOSS PISSES ME OFF ANYWAY..... are you going to purchase t-mobile's internet data plan?
I have to get it. I was hoping to get rid of minutes and just have data plan. Right now, I have it for 35 bucks with T-mobile Sidekick.
Ok, my suggestion is for you to go ahead and get the HTC Dream aka Google G1. Here's why, and its short: Google G1 = has 3G 8900 Curve = has not 3G Fairly simple concept, with the 8900 Curve, although aesthetically pleasing, it lacks 3G, and unless you're within range of WiFi whenever you browse the web, the surfing speed will be really slow. Go with the Google G1, good phone, good operating system, supports 3G.
That's what I've been leaning towards. Surfing is more important than e-mailing...Hopefully, they'll do some upgrades to fix bugs before I buy one!! Thanks for your advice!
Great thing about the G1, you'll still be able to receive upgrades and bug fixes even after you buy the phone. They update via over-the-air. Assuming you have the data plan, whenever they send out upgrades, your phone will ask you if you want to upgrade and you just follow the instructions on the screen. So far I believe there has been 2 or 3 updates since launch. Last one was a few weeks ago that fixed some bugs and added some new features.
Oh yeah, sidekick does the same thing. Awesome to hear that there were some upgrades for G1...just gotta wait for my bonus to get that phone!
I love mine. I have both gmail and a comcast email account and am able to check both over the phone, so emailing isn't an issue. I already used google calendar and you can sync that with outlook, which I find very useful. I got the bronze, which I do regret because the keys are hard to read in low light. I hear the black is much better. I will never get lost again with the maps feature on the phone.
