I've been telling people all week Yao would play like a polished dancer, but no the crappy dancer had to show up
Yao has never played well in All-Star game. It is a game where you relax and have fun....that's not Yao's game. He play better when they take the game seriously.
Yao just plain ol' got exposed today. They should've sit Yao in the stands and make him pay for a ticket. Dude is straight buns.
Don't forget the blocked shot against, the -28 +/- rating and that he played almost 22 minutes. That may very well be the worst individual statistical performance in AS game history. Not that it matters. He's a great player.
I remembered yao threw a couple alley-oops to francis and francis returned the favour to yao during yao 1st or 2nd all-star appearance. So the conclusion is, Yao can play in the all-star game just that he needs someone he comfortable with!
That's quite true. Nearly no player in the West would like to pass the ball to him. If they do pass, maybe Yao can get 20+. It's not so tough for him. And he cannot catch up with the speed in the game, not like Rockets players would slow down and pass the ball to him. All-star game's not his style, I'm afraid.
Oh come on... he did what he was supposed to do play a few minutes, not take chances (other than going on the floor for the ball against Dwight... DON'T do that again Yao) and wave his hand - thank you for playing. I would rather he didn't work all that hard at the All Stars and just gets it done for the Rockets. His is a refined game. All Stars is a street game played indoors. Yao deserved his 10-12 minutes and all we want him to do is tip his hat and wave to the crowd. I did want him to step out and take a three though!!

Yao's not faster than Shaq? I'm surprise. Did you see how slow shaq was? I think Yao's just not comfortable out there and afraid to make mistake. He probably told the coach they play him for 10min.
I agree. I like Yao but he's just embarrassing himself there. 7 times in a row, very unproductive, not entertaining.
It was said on the broadcast that Yao specifically requested only to play the first few minutes of each half. He probably only played because it would be a bit rude to the fans to sit out comepletely. Besides, as many have already said, this just isn't his style of game. No one wants to see a big man backing up and shooting fadeaways and jump hooks in an All-Star game.
