Convenience & simplicity always seems to win out over extravagent styles in the end. Regular long hair and dreads are more simple and long term than rows cuz braids are too darn time consuming. And some of us guys know how it is. Sometimes hair starts thinning out & doesnt grow as fast anymore where you cant keep up the style even if you want to
The first thing I think of when I think cornrows is ghetto. Allen Iverson is proving once again you can take the boy out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the boy. My guess is he'll compensate for this loss of hair with some more gangland artwork.
