Since I had a few extra hours this afternoon I checked all the games Artest has played without McGrady this season. Code: Date Opponent Result MIN FGM FGA 3 M 3PA OFF DEF REB AST STL BLK TO PF PTS 02/11/09 vs. SAC W 94 - 82 39 7 12 3 7 1 2 3 4 1 0 5 4 19 01/31/09 vs. GSW W 110 - 93 32 10 17 4 6 3 4 7 7 0 1 3 3 27 01/07/09 @ BOS W 89 - 85 30 7 13 2 4 0 3 3 4 3 0 3 6 17 12/27/09 vs. UTA W 120 - 115 41 7 18 3 6 2 6 8 4 2 0 1 0 28 12/09/09 vs. ATL W 92 - 84 39 5 10 2 4 2 7 9 5 0 2 1 1 19 12/05/09 vs. GSW W 131 - 112 36 9 21 4 9 1 1 2 5 1 1 3 3 28 12/03/09 vs. LAC W 103 - 96 35 5 15 3 6 0 4 4 4 2 0 4 3 19 11/30/09 @ DEN L 94 - 104 37 5 18 3 6 2 3 5 3 2 0 3 2 13 11/29/09 vs. SAS W 103 - 84 34 4 15 1 4 1 7 8 3 2 1 2 3 16 11/26/09 vs. IND L 90 - 91 44 6 21 1 3 1 4 5 4 1 1 1 1 19 11/24/09 @ MIA W 107 - 98 38 6 15 3 6 1 4 5 3 3 0 1 3 20 Rockets were 9-2 in these 11 games. Artest averaged 20.45 points, 5.36 rebounds, 4.18 assists, 1.55 steals in 36.82 minutes per game. He shot 40.6% on the floor, 47.5% from 3 point line. Not bad, isn't it? What's more important is Artest has been passing the ball well in these games. His shot selections were way better. Not the same black hole he was when he played with McGrady. (Wonder why?) The sample size is small. But the way the team have been competing in these games is simply amazing. They beat Boston, Utah, San Antonio, Atlanta during these games. People need to have faith in this Yao/Artest leaded Houston Rockets team.

right now artest, yao > mac, yao but it's a team game, sometimes one has to defer to the other. the data does show when artest plays well, we usually win. rather have him on our team than on another team. he's playing for a contract, he needs to step it up a notch.
This is a great and very telling post. I'm not sure what Morey has up his sleeve but I had no idea how seemly good we were/are when Artest is in and Tracy out. Great post!
Please keep Ron! Please! T-Mac must be traded in next week! Either Wallace or AI from Pistons would be acceptable!
honestly,Yao and Ron fit in Rox system better than T-mac does..They could easily be a part of five players ..T-mac like to play with the ball long in hand and other four do some asistance for him.. our Rox could have at least 2 choice in the game.. 1. Yao/Ron on the court. 2. T-mac with 4 he need on the court..but when they are 3 on the court..oh,,,not feels good
Give me another injured player that consistently made his teammates worse in NBA history. He doesn't need to be a superstar or even star.
ooo noooo are you telling me this is another bash mcgrady thread. this has got to be the 12th one this week. is this a record i mean damn guys just face it he is a rocket. what kind of fans are yall if yall going to talk down on a guy that wears the rockets color
Odd . . . I remember not too long ago folx were saying Half a TMac was better than anything else the rockets could put on the floor Rocket River
