I don't see much interest in moving Andre Miller because he is PG. The more I think about it,the player that the Rockets might be targeting is Brand. He is injured and has a long contract but is a second tier star. Artest,Scola,Head for Brand works. I wouldn't do that though. Just speculation on my part.
Cept they aren't trading their youngins and I don't see how Collison and Joe Smith would make sense/fit into the team/be something to really get excited about.
Then how can they be "certain" about resigning him this summer without extending him? A verbal committment won't provide that certainty you say they will be looking for. You said if they are uncertain about resigning him, which would naturally be the case short of an extension, then they would look to trade him. So you are basically saying they are definitelty going to look to trade him since there is no way they will be certain about resigning him. I basically don't think it's a given that Miller will be traded. I wouldn't be shocked if it happens but I don't see it as a definite.
Another PF??? No thanks. Especially whens he could be washed up. I suspect not, but no one is gonna take on his contract with the way he's been performing, regardless whether if the team fitted him or not. SCOLA IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE TEAM, DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR. You didn't see much interest in moving Jason Richardson did you??? But I think if the Sixers think Andre Miller will walk, they'd trade him. Thad, Iggy and Mr Mareese Speights have plenty of years in front of them, and when they get to their prime...Andre Miller will still be their PG?
No, but he could be their PG during this playoff run. I don't think the fear of getting nothing for him is enough for them to risk making their team worse for this postseason. Cutting their payroll by $10 million has value in and of itself. I actually don't know if they are even interested in resigning Miller. My "guess" is that they hold onto Miller for the small chance that they can do something this postseason then let him and his salary go this offseason, regardless.
From the PA newspapers I've been reading they're pretty keen to either resign him or trade something of value in return for him so they don't lose him for nothing. How is 10 Mil off the payroll going to help them if it leaves them without a PG? Then their PG situation will be even worse than ours. plus 10 mil off the payroll doesn't mean 10 mil capspace...they've used up their capspace to sign Elton Brand. If they get a young PG prospect or good pick in return I don't think they'd hesitate to elminate the risk of him walking this summer and losing him for nothing by trading him.
I don't want Brand either. Just speculated it might be him, because Les likes to go for names. I like Luis,I don't want him traded at all. I see your point and it is valid,I just feel that Philly still would like to keep some vets around their younger guys. If Andre Miller asks for the max or for a 4-5 year contract,I could see them letting him go.I could see him staying for a shorter length of time and for a reasonable amount. Miller also hasn't ruled out staying in Philly.
I don't think it's any of these big names. I think Solomon is just speculating. I'd bet that Morey only makes a minor change by trading Luther. I just would be extremely surprised for anything major at this point. I'm crossing my fingers for Caron Butler, though. That would be amazing.
TMI haha, but I understand what you mean. Caron would fit nicely here, and we definitely wouldn't have to worry about scoring the ball. Bring on 'Tough Juice'!!!! ....not happening though.
It wont be a PG, he had a comment saying he is just now starting to warm up to skip and now is not the time for him to go.... So it has to be SG-PF.
I think DM is trying to make his best offer out there to see what he can get in return.I don't think he will throw anyone away, without getting something significant in return.I don't see anyone being traded at the end of the day,not even Luther Head. On second thought, they might not take a gamble on Brand as I speculated because of his injuries.
