My cousin and I are having this debate, I wanted the clutchfans community to chime in......

We both know Scola is the better player now! I think Scola at the age of 29 has maxed out his potential, IE.. hardly ever is gonna use his left hand, never will develop much more of his game!

I think Landry's ceiling is much higher than scola's

    1. 25 years old
    2. Finishes with authority
    3. When the rockets do give him a post up, he has a good jump hook and is good at facing up with a J.
    4. Is developing a 3-point shot!

Don't get me wrong this is not a Landry is better than scola thread. But a who has more potential thread! BE NICE

Scola has more potential for teams that want to win a championship.

Landry has the potential to be a starter for the Bucks.

yeah carl has more potential, scola has been around long enough, playing in europe and his national team, to have developed everything he could, i don't think he can get any better than he already is, as for landry, he is as you said improving his range and is 4 years younger and has less experience than scola and is already a great player

Landry has the greater potential, and I'm convinced that's what the Rockets believe as well.

But I was wrong in thinking that they were basically at the same level entering this season. Scola has definitely been the better, more consistent player.

Way to completely miss the connotation of the key word in the question.

Alright guys here is the scoop. My cuz has a man crush on Landry. He is using the word potential as a cop out. Its like saying who has more potential Deke or Dorsey. Of course b/c he is the younger player, people are going to say that Dorsey has more potential. But, really Dorsey will never be the player Deke once was. I think this is the same case. I think Scola is the better player last year, this year, and probably for the next 3-5 years. He is the better player. Its not a knock on Landry. My cousin tried using the excuse that Scola gets his points off of Yao's double team, but also forgot that Scola helped us win 22 games in a row, being in the starting line-up with Yao out most of the time due to injury. Landry is my boy and all but.......

    Scola > Landry

First off, the whole debate was with me, so I think I know the damn question.

Secondly, way to chip in a jerk comment and miss the connotation of the key word in question.

I think they are not too apart in value to the team now. I think Scola's main edge is poise and experience, which Landry could develop overtime. I think they'll both be similar level players... not stars, but not scrubs either. Solid starters and unsung heroes.

NO Way Dorsey has more potential come on!!! don't try to cop out by using that as a example. BAD MOVE

Scola is a seasoned VET he has been around the world playing for 10 years. He had adjustment period last year as well as every rookie will have in the NBA! Landry is 25 and a 2nd year player.

Landry has 10 years left to get better and what you see during the 22 game winning streak and scola this year is where is maxed out as.

The 20 point games landry has had this year can be something i see consistently in the future. Don't twist it up CUZ

I'd like to see Scola shoot the three like Okur does. He would be the ultimate secret weapon, because it would leave plenty of space for yao in the paint.

Good point. I think really does sum up the arguement. On a side note, how can you live in Utah? I guess keep your friends close and your enemies closer, kind of thing is what your doing, lol.

Your usage of the term 'potential' in your previous post clearly indicates otherwise.

Ok, I'll give you the fact that Landry is younger and I do suppose him working on his outside shot, makes him by definition have more potential for the future. If Scola and Landry were the same age, I think this arguement could go in another direction though.
