I'm all for trading McGrady as long as we can get something worthwhile in return. But at the same time who wants a broken down "superstar" and what exactly would we get. At the same time I want to keep Ron. He does bring something to this team. I want to keep Aaron brooks as well. Any trade bait we have I'd be comfortable with would include Rafer, T-mac, Landry and perhaps Shane. Not exactly sure what we might be able to entice a team into with that, most likely would have to involve a three-team deal. And if we are not able to pull off anything, I would just like Tracy to just sit for a while and really rest. It's absolutely r****ded to bring him in for a game and rest the next. Sit him down for a month and then see where he is at. I really had high hopes for this year, and still do, but I would like to see some consistency and night-in-night out effort and intensity... And FFS, I do not want to play Utah in the first round this year. All in all, I think we have what it takes now, but the lack of intensity and consistency is killing us, along with t-mac. This is one of the LEAST enjoyable seasons I have had in a LONG time going back to the Francis/Mobley days, which even though we kinda sucked i still enjoyed following.
The short answer is everyone, because the Rockets haven't sniffed the second round in years. It's just not going to happen with this mix. I hope I'm wrong, but our players comes up deficient in every area a Championship team needs to be strong.
You can't trade McGrady right now. Who's willing to give up around 23 mil of cap room for an injured player... Or if the team has no cap room, would they be willing to give up 23 mil of players? No. I don't think anybody would want him. Lol the only possible deal would be Marbury because it's the same situation basically. But that would be stupid on both team's parts.
I say management just sits him.... Let whatever is wrong with him rest.. We will be able to secure a playoff spot without him, and hopefully he can be fresh by the time we need him. I agree, nobody in their right mind would give up something beneficial for us for him.
GO TO HELL T-MAC AND STAY THERE YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF TRASH PLAYER. KEEP STEALING LES' MONEY AND KEEP EMBARASSING THE CITY OF HOUSTON ON A DAILY BASIS WITH YOUR PMS TANTRUMS. GO TO HELL T-MAC AND STAY THERE AND NEVER COME BACK! Sincerely Houston Fans!
I feel McGrady is still tradeable. *There are teams looking to dump salary contracts, it's not how much a player makes annually but the overall costs that count, because of the financial crisis. -Ratner & Vince Carter *Teams looking to to gamble on a hobbled cornerstone player who'll be an expiring contract next season. McGrady doesn't have to be a first or second option cornerstone player or even play again this season for those teams. -Portland & LaFrentz -Knicks & Marbury, the act of shipping out Marbury alone would be a major PR coup for Walsh. *Teams looking to make salary space for 2010 or want a tieover marquee player until then. -Any team with $10M+ contracts that extend beyond 2010. *Owner desperatley looking to move a $20M contract who is considered untradeable league wide. -Sarver & Shaq
Mcgrady may never be traded. How is he going to pass a physical? Teams are going to want to scope that knee when he's complaining of pain and nothing shows on his MRI.
If teams want McGrady's contract which expires before 2010 or want to gamble on getting a franchise level talent next season they can waive the physical. Earlier this season the Knicks knew Mobley had a potentially career ending ailment which later was confirmed but they still waived his physical because they wanted to dump a longer contract that extended beyong 2010.
tmac has some value because of the fact that his contract expires in 2010, and i really want shane traded I like him and all that dont get me wrong, but he really sucks this year, this is just one example of y his d has fallen off and i wanna trade him, jefferson and bell, both scored over 20 and shane guarded both of them not saying that our all around D didnt suck, but thats what he is in the game to do and he just cant do it at the level he use to, plus his contract really sucks
sorry i forgot about rafer, unless that guy learns to never shoot and steps up his D some more we need to trade him
At this stage of the game (Feb 2008) you are incorrect. Correction--Everyone except Yao Ming is expendable. Yet I would also think that there are several player who would not be traded ie: Yao Ming, Scola and Brooks to name but a few!
its actually 20 mil right now, 23 mil next year. i agree with the poster saying to sit him then trade him in the off season when he is expiring and worth much more regardless of how bad he is playing unless ofcourse the idiot called morey can redeem himself with a nice trade
It's unlikely. If it's going to happen, then both us and the j*zz will have to be dealing out first round upsets. I'm willing to bet we'll both be bringing up the rear in the West.
Agreed. Scola is here to stay unless a ridiculously generous offer is made by another team to get him. I don't think anyone is willing to part with a Brandon Roy or Danny Granger to get Scola so I doubt he is going anywhere. I think teams might be interested in acquiring Landry. He has proved to be healthy this season and adding the automatic 17 ft jumper to match his athleticism should make him attractive to a lot of teams. I like Carl's game but if another team is willing to part with a good PG in exchange for a package involving Landry I'm sure Morey would do it.
