Forget the fact that it went through Hill's legs, THAT is a difficult pass to make from that length of the court.
By the way, it IS an amazing pass - amazing that it got through. But honestly, how did Grant Hill not intercept it? Watching it over and over again, it just doesn't make sense why he would try to kick it instead of turn and reach down.
cuz hes old and injured all the time... that would probably break his wrist. at least it would tmacs. these are the kind of passes jason williams did on that Sacramento team.
it looks like he saw it too late and it almost looked like he avoided kicking so he wouldnt get a kick ball call.
And hence the mystery is solved. BTW I wish I could be in america and play college ball, im pretty envious.
Hill clearly tried to kick the ball. But the spin on the ball curved it INTO Hill. I doubt that AI intentionally went between Hill's leg. Being a professional means practice and conditioning. I'm fairly certain Hill has never practiced kicking a 45 ft curving bounce pass with his foot on a basketball court. It's an incredible play ...but incredibly stupid play. But incredible ...which is what makes the NBA fun to watch.
it's a great pass and all, but he's a damn NBA guard. If I can throw that pass from about 40 feet having never played HS or college ball.. I expect them to be able to do that. Fact is, SOMEone should have been in that lane...more than just Hill. (And Hill should have stopped it, but sht happens)
If anyone is going between Grady's legs in a few years, it won't be on the basketball court because I feel almost certain he will retire in 2010.
