Kaman & Dirk = Olympic teammates

Kaman = A C who can score, something the Mavs haven't had in like, ever.

Kaman = A better defender than Damp or Diop

Baron = in a winning environment might be enough to get him motivated.

Baron = Can hit a 17 footer, something JKidd can't.

At the end of the day, sure, it leaves the Mavs financially handicapped a bit, but, let's be real. Dirk is the franchise. He's not getting any younger either. They can wait until this offseason (when Kidd's number comes off the books) or do a sign and trade with Kidd in the offseason, or, wait for '10 like everybody else, but who do they really expect to get, better then this deal right here?

Jason Terry is an already proven 6th man, and all the while the Mavs still have some tradeable assets, ie, contract that will come off the book after this season (Stackhouse) and a contract that comes off the books in time for '10 (Josh Howard)

    C - Kaman
    PF - Dirk
    SF - Josh Howard
    SG - Antoine Wright
    PG - BDiddy

Jason Terry, Brandon Bass, Barea, George and Matt Carrol can seriously contend for at least the next two years.

cuban has said before he wants to start being more financially savvy with the mavs and that he would look to cut payroll so i doubt he would take back two long term contracts of overpaid but good players

cuban said he is not going back to the huge payroll he used to have. if iam not mistaken he might be looking to get out of the league altgether cause hes disillusioned with some of the stuff going on

Well at the very least Kaman gives them the low post scoring presence Dampier was supposed to provide. Of course BD is one of the most overrated pgs in the league, and coaching him might drive their coach nuts. BD is just plain uncoachable

you have to turn this trade down. you'd be in contract hell for a long time if you took on diddy and kaman's contracts. you couldn't resign dirk. and no one is going to take them from you once you get them. clippers are screwed with these contracts until their last year on both contracts. safe to say, the clipps did not plan ahead to join the 2010 FA class party.
