Most shorter than average men dream of being taller. Sure, being a tall guy means you are more attractive to the opposite sex. But it does have its disadvantages that might not be known to short guys. Prone to back pain Feet stick out of your bed Always asked to get things from top the shelf and cabinets Uncomfortable airplane trips Can't drive small sporty cars Need to hunch down in the shower What are some others?
Everything is designed for midgets. Shower heads too low. Seats too close to one another (no knee room). Countertops too low. Chairs too low. ETc etc
My husband is 6'7" and we have had some fun car shopping experiences. First thing we do is have him sit in the driver's seat. We rule out a lot of potential cars that way. My 14 yo son is in a growth spurt, watching him hit his head on stuff that wasn't a problem before is always interesting.
I am 6 feet even. Maybe 6 feet and 1/2 inch if I don't slouch. I know a lot of men exaggerated their height. But I am 6'00".
Don't forget being slow, having bad hands, and can't move laterally quick enough, you are also very prone to injuries. Spoiler
Not having your shoe size. Hell I'm 5'10 and wear a size 14 and sometimes have a problem finding my shoe size.
I am 6' even, and I don't experience any of your discomforts... I assumed when you said tall... at least >6'2"
I'm not too terribly tall but I have relatively large feet. I needed some new cross trainers over Christmas and when I went to the mall, not a single store had anything I liked in my size. Most stopped at size 13 or 14. I had to order a pair off the internet.
I dunno, but the average American male is 5'9". I've got that beat by 4 inches. I know I'm taller than average or taller than most but I don't consider that tall. I might put that mark at around 6'4" or 6'5".
If you are reasonably athletic, height is a tremendous advantage from the time you are say 10-35. If you are reasonably good-looking, it's an advantage from say 15 to the time you are off the mating market. If you are reasonably smart, it's an advantage in the business world. Sooo....what were you b!tching about again? Oh yeah, travel probably sucks. The other stuff? Well, I lived in Japan for four years and was a tall guy at 5'9. I hit my head on a few door frames, but overall being relatively tall was a really cool experience.
Yeah I'm not that tall. I'm just taller than average. The crazy thing is that you would think that someone my height would live comfortably. But I have noticed that everything is designed for people of average size, as the other poster said. I am also quite slender in addition to being 6 feet, so that might add to the disproportion. Also, yw mlwoo.
Being 6', I wish genetics would bless me with 2-3 more inches. Plus I'm fat, if I was more fit, maybe I would be taller.
